New Sig320 owner,,,Mag question

1672 20
So last week I FINALLY took the step and bought a 320. I do own a few Rugers and 2 M/P's,but I just had to add a Sig 320 .
Now I asked the sales rep at Buds for a CARRY model in 9mm. From all I read, watched and heard that comes with 17 round mags.
I get the pistol ,walk across the store and get some range time and low and behold the mags are 15 round mags?!?!?? Whats up with that?? I have a Gen 2 model as the slide release has is U shaped instead of the old style.
The box says 320CA-9- BSS which from all I gethered means a CARRY version therefore it should have 17 round mags instead of the 15 round mags that came with it.
Anyone have an explanation?

Pretty sure you just got bad information. The carry & compact grip handle is shorter than the full, that uses the 17, so the other 2 can only have 15 for 9mm. I think you can use longer mags but they will stick out and you probably have to install an XGrip to fill the void. It's like putting the compact .40 mags in a sub compact grip that requires the XGrip unless you get the 10 round mag made for it the subcompact.

Ah!!! got it,,so the Carry and compact have 15 round mags. 15 is fine...
I went to work yesterday carrying it instead of my usual carry,my Ruger SR9. One of the girls at work saw it, She's a big Block(Glock) fan. This morning she showed me the new 320 she bought last night..Guess it kinda rubbed off

Both of these statements ^ are incorrect.

As noted by MHS, the Carry models should include 17 round mags. The Carry grip is essentially Compact in length and Full Size in height. 15 round mags wont even fit into a Carry grip module. Also, the 17 round mags fit flush with the Carry grip.

The label on your box (320CA-9- BSS) and the items you received do not match. If your 15 mags fit flush into your grip module, you've got a Compact.

OP, can you maybe take a picture of your grip module and post it? Just curious.

which was the impression I got. As SigMHS pointed out ,when I looked on the store website THAT is what I saw,,,,,17 round mags,,,2 included.
If 15 round mags won't fit in a Carry module then its ODD that mine has no problem with them. In both mags all I can fit in them is 15 rounds each, try as I may I can't get two more in either. I don't know id Sig mags have a tight spring that needs to be "worn in" some to loosen them up but its down right perplexing

Yep, I was wrong. The last time I looked at their site (when I got mine a few weeks ago) they had a lot of things removed like conversion kits, mag info, etc. Back up now with updated info and models. I shoulda tried there first instead of google...cuz my searches only showed places selling 15's for the carry.

Well, you likely don't have a Carry model, you have a Compact grip module.

Just check the mag engraving. Is the highest number 15 or 17?

The compact and carry models have the same barrel length but they differ in the amount of rounds per mag. Compact 15, carry 17, full size 17. If the serial number on the box matches the gun, you likely have the carry model. My full size 17 round mags had to be force fed the last two rounds. Your mags are probably the same. They get easier to feed all seventeen rounds as they are used. You can confirm that you have 17 round mags for they will have a round capacity marked on it. If it says 15 max then they put a compact gun in a carry box and the serial number on the box shouldn't match your gun.

Both are great guns. I hope you enjoy whatever you bought. Welcome to SigTalk. Greetings from the flat lands of Kansas.

The serial numbers match, thats the thing,
Tried to post a pic of the mag, can't for some reason but they both show a 17 round capacity. So I guess that its due to the stiffness of the springs. Thanks all, you have been helpful
Get yourself a maglula, best gun money you'll ever spend.

Your Carry should have come with 17 round mags, same ones as the full size. As was mentioned before, the Carry is a hybrid between the Compact and Full Size. It has the slide assembly of the Compact but the grip (handle portion) length is the same as the full size so it accepts a 17 round mag flush fit. The Carry will not accept the 15 round mags of the Compact because they are too short. Check the round indicator on the side of the mag to see if the last hole is marked 15 or 17. If it is marked 15 and they still fit in the Carry and shoot, those are some weird Mags. Perhaps modified for one of the regulated states or something?
