New MPX - First Teardown/Inspection/Cleaning

918 Views 11 Replies 9 Participants Last post by  Skyhawkdad
On first teardown/cleaning/inspection I noticed what appeared to be a manufacturing defect (see picture). I contacted Sig Sauer Customer Support on Monday regarding this issue. On Wednesday, I sent another message asking for support. To date, I have heard nothing from Sig Sauer. I know they make good firearms, but I question their customer support - or lack thereof. Any comments on the picture below are appreciated. Thanks.

Just call them. They can be slow to reply to emails at times.

The handful of CS reps get thousands of emails. It can take a week or more to wde through them. Give them a call directly.

Small ding wont affect operation and wouldn't bother me. But, your gun, your call.

That isn’t an issue by any stretch. Has no effect on function or looks when assembled. Honestly looks as though it has fresh lint on it and recently dinged. You’re gonna have a tough time proving that is a “manufacture defect”.

If it were me.. I would forget about it and enjoy shooting.

A single phone call and you'd get a rep to help you out.
Call Sig CS. Enjoy the forum as a source of information on all things Sig. It is not a complaint board. That’s between you and Sig.
Yes, send it back and replace for something else...the next one will have a little scratch, discoloration or something you won't be happy with for sure. People still touch these guns. I am trying to get my hands on one for a while and I would be more than glad to have this one. A few USPSA matches and it will look the part anyway.
I don't have any wear like the OP pic. But I have dealt with Sig support.

My MPX-K has a tiny wear mark and Sig support did nothing. Asked about it three times over the 2 years I've owned the gun. Seemed to get bigger. Sig said this is normal and folks here said it was normal so I just shoot it. About 2K rounds and zero malfunctions. Old steel case, aluminum, JHP, heck even 115gr Win white box. Doesn't bother me. Except when I clean it
