I got several of the first versions of the TLR7 and the switches were terrible. The newer version changed them. Streamlight offered no upgrade, recognized the issue and will not even offer a discount on a newer one. I went with Surefire instead even thought they are more money.

Don't get too excited.. I per-ordered from Battery Junction as well. I called them the other day, May 7th. Just like the email they sent me 2 hours after I ordered on March 26th stated. FIFO rule for all the orders... They need to update the website (of which he said they'd do.) Right...
LAPG said April 15. But their website hasn’t updated either so who knows for sure. Just so long as it isn’t like the Romeo Zero rollout that went on for months.

I’ve got a regular TLR-7 to compare it to. Hopefully the same quality.

I just sold a 1st gen TL-8. Really liked it on the DW Specialist 1911. I've got no worries on the quality of the upcoming sub unit, but like you worry it'll be a unicorn for a while. Hope not!

From Rob with Streamlight this morning to my TLR-7 sub shipping question "Thank you for your inquiry. Streamlight is expecting these to be readily available in the June time frame."

Yup. It’s surprising considering that they already have the electronics figured out. Just wrapping it in a new body.

Guys on ARFCOM thread are starting to show it in the wild, albeit on Glocks. Looks good! I've had mine on order from Battery Junction since March 26th. Last email they sent me stated May 7th ship date. We shall see..

Pics appear to show 7-sub switches reducing the space between the xl trigger and the trigger guard. Too much? Please post a 90 degree photo when you get one.

Make sure you get that coin operated screw tight. I put a Streamlight 69424 TLR-7A on my Springfield XDM Elite OSP and took it to the range last weekend and it came off while firing. I wish I had noticed before purchase that was how this one mounts. Very difficult to get it tight using a coin. I might actually see if I can put some Loctite on it.
