Hey Guys. Just joined from SW Ohio. Currently on my second Sig pistol. My first was a P225 A1 Classic. It was such a sweet little pistol. It was a smooth shooter and so nicely made. I did not however care for the way the mags were made. Seemed like such an after thought. My latest is a P228. It is a triple serial, German made with the carbon steel slide. It is a 1996 manufacture with all the German proof marks from the Kiel factory and it is in great condition Traded my P225A1 classic to get it so that is a bummer but I do not regret my decision. I only wish I could have had both. This P228 came with the German test target and 2 post ban,10rd OEM and 5-13rd govt only sig mags. I have since picked up some mec gar,15rd mags that run flawlessly. This thing is such a great shooter. These P22X series sigs are some of the finest pistols ever made imo and I own and have owned plenty of other brands.

Welcome from New York. Nice job on buying your Sigs. Too bad your 225a1 had to be traded for your 228, but I understand your reasoning. The 228 is a great gun and fits the bill for all kinds of needs. The 225a1 is also a great gun, but I understand your observation on the mags - they are practically the same mags as Sig made for the 9mm 239, and so, I think there was a little shortcut in that department. But I like the grip and pointability of the 225a1 so much, I had one made into a Steel Challenge shooter with a milled slide for a C-More RTS2 red dot. Anyway, you did good really well buying the 228 - it looks like it is in real nice shape and will give you years of great shooting. Cheers!
