Welcome aboard. I was just in San Antonio last week taking my daughter to her shotgun tournament at the National Shooting Complex. Lot of places to skeet shoot as you have national shooting complex, San Antonio Gun club, and a Place to Shoot in the southside. With retirement, I rekindled interest in old hobby of firearms. Used to hunt with sons while they were in house, but that was long ago. Reloaded for deer rifles and shot lots of skeet.
As software engineer, always tinkered. As homeowner, lots of experience fixing broken stuff around the house. Now I find myself doing same with small arms. ”Assembled” a couple of firearms and now working on my third. Enjoying the hell out of challenges to understand the function of all the parts in the FCUs.
Joined to listen and learn from the sages. Hoping to find enough to avoid mistakes of others and resolve my own mistakes.
Life membership at San Antonio Gun Club, I used to live within walking distance. I would meet a couple of buddies there on Sunday afternoon to shoot. One day I was walking to SAGC when I was stopped by local LE. He knew where I was going. He acknowledged that walking with an open O/U on my shoulder was legal. He asked me to drive next time because I was making the old ladies in the neighborhood nervous and they had multiple calls from 911.Welcome aboard. Yep Olmos Park PD has an ordinance against open carry which was recently invalidated by State law. Unfortunately I could care less what a bunch of Karen's think and would have continued it as long as you were going to your lawful activity. We go shoot SAGC when they hold 4H tournaments for trap every November and the State Games are held at National Shooting Complex. A place to shoot is nice for a weekend shooting especially when we are done with shotgun we grab the rifles and practice more.Life membership at San Antonio Gun Club, I used to live within walking distance.
