Need some help

Hey all,

I'm an LEO and carry a P320 professional series with a Wilson combat grip and the sig Romeo 1pro dot. I've had problems in extreme weather (rain and snow) with my dot washing out. I'm thinking of getting an enclosed dot now. My other problem with my current setup is this gun feels top-heavy and unbalanced in my hand. I shoot it well and am very proficient with it, but I think I could get something better.

The other day, I picked up an X Carry Legion and loved the way it felt. The barrel length was the same (as it sticks out from the slide for a suppressor), so I'm assuming I'm not losing anything in terms of velocity (it probably wouldn't be a big difference anyway). I want to keep the irons and put a halosun 509 on it. Here are my main concerns:

1) Is it worth getting this gun or should I just get a higher-end grip model for my current gun?

2) How can I mount a halosun 509 on this handgun and have co-witnessing irons?

3) Does the legion have superior parts in it (slide, recoil spring, trigger, etc.)?

4) Are there better-enclosed dots for pistols on the market (or coming soon to the market)?

Thanks for the advice and thoughts.

That’s disheartening; your setup is what I want to carry for duty once red dots become authorized for me. Do you have a 3.9 or 4.7 barrel?
I’d probably start with adding the weights to the grip module if you haven’t already. Or upgrade to the AXG, which I think is on sale this week.

I have a 4.7 barrel.

I'd highly recommend an x5 legion or a X Carry Legion. The Sig-infused modules are very nice. The Wilson combat ones aren't bad but they could be better.

The top heavy feeling is much less with the weights added to the grip module. Wilson Combat has 3 tungsten rods that fit into three channels in the frame behind the magazine. I have weights in all four of my P320's and it makes a big difference. The balance point feels like it's in the center of my hand, and not top heavy at all.

Superzuki,

I installed the 3 weights a couple of days ago. I'd still say there is a MAJOR difference when holding Sigs infused grips vs the Wilson Combat's with the weights installed. Does it fix the balance issue? No, but it's very close.

The best way to go is with Sig's tungsten-infused grips. If you want it modified, send it out for work. The Wilson Combat isn't bad at all, just not the superior option. I'd argue it's the second-best choice if getting a Sig-infused grip module isn't an option.

I have the Sig grip weight and the steel mag-well funnel, that makes a bigger difference. I've never used the tungsten infused module, probably even better. My next 'improvement'.

I have XXL sized hands, the Wilson Combat grip module isn't the best choice for me, the large X-Grip is ideal for me.
