My SIG SRD762Ti-QD suppressor stamp arrived yesterday, and this MCX rifle system is finally cobbled together - at least for now. It's a huge understatement to describe our MCX story as FAR from 'as advertised' - But, SIG has delivered this new platform - and I'm happy! Yeah, it's actually pretty trick!!

I look forward to lots of range time to get her dialed in with different calibers, barrel lengths and optics setups. We'll also have some fun shoot-offs against our SIG516 with her 10" and 14.5" uppers. 516 is pretty tough competition - I have no idea which will prevail...

Here're MCX in her basic MRO setups 300Blk SBR, suppressed and 16" 5.56.

This gal doesn't travel light!! I'm using SIG's MCX deployment bag to stuff most of her gear. It works...

Cheers

Question, what flash hider/brake are you using for the SRD762 on your MCX.
Thank you Sir!! The QD version of SIG's SRD762 can came with a muzzle brake in the box. It's the little spud on the left here.

Congratulations!! Looks sick!!

Interesting battle: 516 vs MCX to take the crown of best Sig piston rifle!!

My plan is to put a 9" 300BLK MCX AR conversion kit on my 516. Then I will build up a stripped lower for the 516 upper and buffer assembly. I've got the SRD556 Ti QD for the 516 and my Silencerco Hybrid stamp just came in two weeks ago for the MCX upper and my p320, but SBR stamp for the 516 hasn't arrived yet.

It's going to be a while for the conversion kit, especially since I recently changed the order to the FDE version to match the 516 lower. I know it's going to take longer for the FDE, but it will be the same price. I won't have to have it coated for more money.

Congrats again.

Is that the Carbine handguard? And how is getting the suppressor off when it is tucked under the handguard with it being the QD version?

Welcome to Sig Talk! There are 3 different handguards on the 3 configurations above - The top pic is the short SBR length, the middle has the long carbine suppressor compliant version that has a wider ~2" interior diameter, making room for the tucked can, and the bottom pic is the standard carbine length handguard.

The handguard has to come off to remove the QD suppressor. It's an easy slide off after popping out the forward upper/lower retention pin, so it's no big deal.

Sweet setup Kansas!

Questions: Are you getting brass shavings in you lower shooting suppressed? I have a similar setup as you with .300 and 5.56 barrels. Each time I shoot, I am seeing brass shavings. I have seen this before in my SR25 shooting suppressed.

I have the three pronged flash hider instead of the "stubby" that comes with the 762Ti QD. No flash on the .300 but still a fireball with the 5.56 11.5" barrel.

Shooting subsonic suppressed always gathers a crowd. No noise or recoil. It's been an almost a 2 year journey of waiting on Sig, stamps, and recalls to deliver the perfect setup.

Thanks! I'm trying to decide on which suppressor I should get. I just sent my Form 1 paperwork for the 9" 300 blackout so I have a ways to go.

Might as well get it going now, as it is going to take almost a year now for ATF to approve anything.

LOL! Yeah - congrats on surviving the gauntlet we've had to endure with this gun!!

I just got the SRD762 this past Monday afternoon, so have only mounted the adapter, did a suppressor alignment test and fired a few test shots. I did notice the extractor seemed to chew on the brass a little more than I usually see. There was also some brass flakes on the bolt face too.

I'll keep a eye on this and comment here with more range time...

That's the plan. I'm leaning towards the 762Ti with the carbine handguard.
I like this Ti version as it's lighter than the inconel option.

Running my MCX as a 16" 556 and mostly unsuppressed for several years now, it's light-weight agile feel is great! This agility is even better with only the 9" barrel and short handguard. I mean, this setup is only a 7lb rifle with an empty 30rd mag and MRO reflex optic mounted.

She seems a lot heavier now after adding the SRD762Ti suppressor, the suppressor compliant's wide & long handguard, weapons light & hand stop all installed.

I haven't weighted this setup yet, but she's probably now over 9lbs, and feels more like my 516 SBR's weight.

I like to extend my support hand out on these SBRs, so a tucked suppressor feels right, but I'll take another look at some weight saving options too...

I just throw the MCX SBR on our scale with 9" 300Blk barrel, SRD762Ti-QD can, suppressor compliant 12" alloy handguard, MRO reflex optic, collapsible stock, keymod QD sling mount, iron sights, keymod hand stop and empty 30rd mag - and she's 8lbs 13ozs.

My SIG516 SBR 10" 556 very similarly equipped except a Lansing carbon fiber handguard and Aimpoint T1 reflex optic is 9lbs 7ozs.

I'd like a 7lb rifle, but gotta have 'em equipped too...

Modular Madness!!

That's awesome. May I ask if you started with a pistol first and then went SBR or did you start with a rifle and work down? Any recommendation?
Thanks! Yeah, she was born 556 carbine rifle, but has since gone Modular!!

Her SIG516 sister started as P516 pistol, and SBR'ed to rifle.

Both of these approaches avoid the purgatory of a SBR held hostage to a Form 4 direct purchase. These Form 1 builds are bad enough, I'm not sure I could survive a rifle held in NFA jail for a year...

Cheers

Is there a good reason to tuck the can?
I would think you could have a lighter rifle with a narrower front hand guard that's also easier to grasp. I use a Griffin (spelling?) cover on my can which can be used to get an extended reach if necessary.

Still a beautiful set-up(s).

Thanks. Yeah sure, you can use a glove n' cover - don't shoot your thumb off though!!.

I'm just keeping my shooting grip and motions consistent. All of our ARs have the same 10 to 12" handguards, i.e. the 16s", 14.5", 10" and 9" barrel guns handle the same.

Cheers
