Any one buy 2 Sigs and use the parts to make one the way you want it? Like swapping slides etc. What do y'all do with the left overs? Keep them in case you want to convert them back? Sell them off and get what you can for them? I have a few I need to decide what to do with.

I always keep whatever spare parts I have until I sell the gun, then let the spare parts go with the gun when it is bought. That isn't the most thrifty way to do things, I suppose, but so what?

Well I didn't buy two to purposely to make one but I did swap the slides for a bit because I like the look, especially of the black frame with FDE slide. Have since returned them to their original frames

While I have never bought "doubles" just to swap around parts, it has crossed my mind, a time or two. The latest "multiple" purchase was a few months back, on a Gun Broker auction for 3, P220 frames in various states of completeness. One was to create a dedicated .22, with a conversion that had been on a SAO, that I ended installing a 5" Match style upper assembly, I had built earlier. I've got something like 7 complete uppers, plus a couple others that need rebuilding/refinishing. Most are for "quick" caliber conversions, and none are for sale!

That's why I started, and have maintained the thread in "Projects", listing many of the "Parts Kits" involving Sigs, available at auction, which without a frame, doesn't require a FFL. While some can be bargains, it all depends on the model involved.

No, but I do have a mountain of replacement parts I've bought for various
guns (barrels, slides, stocks, optics, etc). Not exactly sure what to do with
it all. I usually look at it, shake my head and walk away. :p

Yes. I can sell the parts on eBay or Auction Arms, or here on SigTalk. I can make another gun, and sell that if I don't have any interest in that one.

I am currently working on two projects like this, and have a third project planned for next year.

Of course, if we wanted t9 be thrifty we wouldn’t have a bunch of guns. Go for it.

Traded them off and picked up another P220 Elite. Not the best trade ever made but I'm happy and would rather have this than those two. My first Elite I split up, slide went to my super match frame and frame went to a carry slide.

A slide or frame laying around always ends up finding the other half and then you have a Frankenstein gun
