MPX - What's in the box?

741 Views 11 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  kieron
Happy Father's Day, my fiance surprised me this evening by bringing home an MPX I've had my eye on for a while. It was supposed to the NIB, but it arrived in a Plano rifle case. No factory documentation, lock or anything else, just the tag on the trigger guard..

For the MPX owners, what all is included in the new factory box besides owner's manual, warranty card, and govt. mandated safety fliers? Anything special for a "competition ready" PCC? Needless to say, while I'm thrilled with the new acquisition, I'm less so in the state of its arrival.

I just happen to have a new in the box, never been fired MPX-P-9-KX (BOD=26-FEB-2017) with all the factory "goodies" but I have added some extras, as you can see in the photo below. The extras are 3-30 round mags, a Timney trigger (uninstalled, SIG SAUER / TIMNEY COMPETITION MPX UPGRADE TRIGGER), a Sig red dot (uninstalled), an installed Sig folding Arm Brace, along with a spare but used 4.5" barrel and matching handguard. So, other than those items, you can see the original box, lock, and docs, in the top image, then laid out for your review of the contents in the second image... does that help?

Very helpful, thanks sigamore!

Our new arrival is the longer RMPX-16B-9, but the basic items should be the same regardless of the SKU. Looks like a call to the vendor is in the works for tomorrow morning.

I agree. I'd almost be included to go back to the seller and ask what the story is.
To be delicate, I realize it was a nice gift but still odd a NIB gun would come without
the factory contents. Box or no box.

Thanks weatom.

We reached out to the vendor and after an exchange of text messages, he claimed to have found the box and factory contents in the back room. He's closed today and tomorrow, but will have everything ready for pickup Wednesday afternoon. Had offered for this morning but fiance and I are both working.

Will update Wednesday evening.

In OP's place, I would get a Fat Wrench to verify barrel bolt torque is 28-30 inch pounds. I'd also download the MPX manual to know what to lube and how to function test an MPX etc.; I'd buy lots of 9mm ammo and cherish the girl friend! Spare magazines are also a good idea.

Bill

PS: If accuracy is off verify that the muzzle device is tight on its LH threads. If it is loose it would have had a suppressor mounted, so the muzzle device would need Rocksett to hold it an place. B

Most MPX will just come with the standard documents, lock and some will have a Sig taper adapter. Some venders/LGS may add other goodies but that varies a lot.

I would like to see a .357Sig and 7.62x25Tok version, but I can only dream.

Dropped by the shop this afternoon and was able to pick up the box and sundries without issues.

Although it was a positive outcome, we won't be purchasing from this vendor again. Instead of texting to my fiance, "I don't think the MPXs came with manuals", he could have offered a truthful explanation of why it was missing. (The carbine was taken out of the box for compliance work just before we moved locations but the box is buried somewhere in the back.)
