MPX-320

Now with 30rd 320 magazine available I wonder if a MPX lower that accepts 320 magazines is far behind, makes sense for LE/Military/civilian that have m17-320s.

Not gonna happen. Sig likes proprietary systems, they make more money off them.

Im guessing the only reason they came out with the 30 rounder is the obvious answer of “why not?” There are some carbines out there that take 320 mags. CMMG has a new one coming out soon if its not already on the market.

Fully understand the “proprietary systems” profit, but how much more profitable is the Mpx magazine over the 320 magazine. SIG also like modularity so why not make the MPX more modular by having two type of lowers. A tactical one that take 320 mags, which is also a proprietary mag and a tournament speed one. I bet the SIG marketing team could come up with a reasons why you need both. If more and more other manufacturers are coming out with a 320 magazine compatible PCC that shows there is a market. In the end every 320 compatible B&T, CMMG, aero p etc sold is less profit for SIG and is also putting another brand into a potential SIG owner hands. And while they’re at it they should add a non-reciprocating charging handle because that’s the new must have wingding. :)
I don’t see a real upside for Sig: it’s more manufacturing space and overhead in what will surely become very limited factories with their two new USG contracts. The last thing they need is yet another model to sustain…they have a hard enough time supporting the ones they have now.

The idea of compatibility is nice — I have a Beretta 92G and CX4 that share magazines. But the only 30-rd magazines I’ve bought were just for the CX4…I have no intention of ever trying to use them in my 92G. And 15-rd magazines in a PCC just seems suboptimal. So in a ****, only carrying one kind of magazine has some value, I can’t see building a production line around it.

I’d rather Sig focus on delivering on the modularity promises they’ve already made -- and actually producing MCX uppers!!

Wishful thinking. Get a B&T APC9Pro w/ 320 lower. I sure did. That and my MPX are now my favorite 9mm PCCs.
