I currently have the compact carry p320, my question is for me to go to the subcompact would I have to get a new slide,

No, you just need to get the subcompact grip module and you'll want the 12 round mags for a flush fit.

Pick on the left is compact/carry slide on sc grip module with 15 round mag x-grip. Right is the essentially the same but with the romeo 1 compact/carry slide.
