Are you sure that you don't have a mag from a 10 rd restriction state?I recently picked up a nice P229 40 in satin nickel. The pistol came with four Sig Sauer stamped magazines. The magazines have witness holes going up to 13 however I can only get 10 rounds in. Am I doing something wrong?
you beat me to it......comparison pic.13 rounders are 9 MM, not .40/357.
12 rounds are .40/357.
Your magazines are for a 229 9MM.
Possibly a 228.
Look on the back of the magazine and see if the seam is overlapped in a zipper back.
Also, if the holes are on the back, then it is probably for the older 228/229 in 9MM
If they are on the side, they are .40/357.
Want to trade?
Nothing, now that you just tried to jam 13 40S&W cartridges in them...Thanks for the clarification. My mags have the witness holes in the back. They must be for the older 9mm P228/229. What are these mags worth? Is there a demand for them because they are older?
