Actually Sig currently buys mags from both Mec-Gar and Checkmate and both are branded "Sig Sauer".You want Mec-Gar. Sig branded mags are made by Checkmate these days. Mec-Gar is better. The Checkmates that came with my MK25 are range mags. My carry mags are all Mec-gar.
You will not be disappointed with Mec-Gar.Thanks guys. I'll be 68 next month. Been carrying non-militarywise since I
first became a cop in Washington DC in 69 after 13.5 months in Nam. Own
over 40 handguns and unless some manufacturer has snuck a Meg-Gar in
under their own logo, I've never used Meg-Gar that I know of. Nice to know
I didn't just waste over 100 bucks on mags.
I'll run them thru the gun a few times before I put them in my EDC.
Thanks again,
Dano
I walked a beat in DC back when only cars had radios. Beat cops had a brassYou will not be disappointed with Mec-Gar.
And thank you for your service military and law enforcement. Sir.
At 70 I remember those times.
...I've
had my ***** saved by hookers more than by other cops back then....

No they're not!Hookers are greatly misunderstood.
.
Why not?No they're not!
No. Mec-Gar does make the P227 mags. But SIG has contracts with them that prevents them from selling the same mags under their name that they sell to SIG to ship with SIG's name on them. Mec-Gar would have to make a different-capacity mag to sell for the P227. And we already have had enough problems with the 14-rounder.Why not?
So looking at the Mec-Gar website they show nothing for a P227---does that mean they don't supply them to Sig for new gun sales?
And their 18 round flush fit mags are the best you can buy anywayNo. Mec-Gar does make the P227 mags. That's why you don't see Mec-Gar selling 15-round P226 9mm mags. But they sell 18-round and 20-round P226 9mm mags.
I'm thinking I should buy some of those. I've only bought the mec-gar 15rd phosphated mags. And their 18 round flush fit mags are the best you can buy anyway
Am I missing something here? Did I misread what you wrote? I have bought 15 round P226 9mm mags that are Mec-Gar mags. I'm now confused but that's not difficult to confuse me.That's why you don't see Mec-Gar selling 15-round P226 9mm mags. But they sell 18-round and 20-round P226 9mm mags.
