Looking to buy a 9mm carbine

Please chime in on what you have or what you have shot and tell me why I should get that one.
Thanks in advance.

The Sig MPX or a CZ Scorpion are the most common purpose built carbines and
have plenty of aftermarket accessories/parts support. Obviously there's plenty
of AR based carbines, so that's strictly a matter of personal brand choice. Pick
a brand and they probably make one.

I own both the Sig and the CZ . Both are solid, very well built, and great shooting.

The CMMG Banshee or Resolute in 9mm is supposed to be a pretty nice little AR style gun. I have thought about getting one set up for p320 magazines for a while now.

Ruger PC carbine is cool and affordable. The takedown feature is nice. You most likely WILL have to upgrade to an MCarbo extractor for $30 but very simple to do.

I've got a Scorpion Carbine. Love it. Accurate, reliable, mags are plentiful and inexpensive. Added an inexpensive Romeo 5 and simply couldn't be more pleased.

I have a CZ Scorpion EVO SBR and an HK SP5 SBR, and shoot both primarily suppressed. I really like the Scorpion, though the action is kind of loud. I love the HK, but it is 2-3 the price of the Scorpion.

Scorpion: more economical initial cost as well as mags, aftermarket parts, etc. One highly recommended 'upgrade' is the non-ambidextrous safety. If you want a tri-lug mount, it attaches via the threaded muzzle.

SP5: What can you say? HK. Classic. Tri-lug mount is part of the barrel. Everything is more expensive. $65 mags are a deal.

Both are reliable and accurate.

I want something good but not too expensive. I don't want the bottom of the barrel but I also don't want to spend a couple of grand on a toy to use at the camp.

What is that in $? Ruger Charger is the least costly on what's presented. CZ, Sig are priced higher, while the CMMG is not cheap either. HK is priced gold bullion.

The Ruger PC Carbine is a great choice. It's accurate, can be altered (with a supplied adapter) to use Glock magazines, is fairly low priced, and doesn't LOOK like an "assault weapon." Since Marlin Camp Carbines are no longer readily available, this would be my choice.

The CZ is the one you probably want then. Solid build, but won't break the bank anymore
than your typical well built gun. The model Christak posted above is nice.

My CZ will chew through anything. Built like a tank and super reliable.

Ok, got a good chuckle out of that one :)

Agreed on the "built like a tank and super reliable" comment. I'll add it's easy to break down for cleaning, though I doesn't require much upkeep to maintain it's reliability and accuracy. Mine eats anything you feed it. Never had a malfunction of any kind with any of my 9 CZs...highly recommend it!

ETA: Wanted to mention that I picked up the HB Industries Reduced Weight Trigger Spring Kit, though the Scorpion stock trigger was fine if a bit heavy. The $9 spring kit took the pull down to 5 pounds. Also got their $13 Safety Delete and put it on my Scorpion, though the stock right side safety wasn't really a big issue for me. Love the carbine...

One more vote for the Ruger PCC carbine. Accurate. Easily accessorized. Reasonably priced. It’s the Center target at 25 yards.

Why is this important? I personally think the Ruger PC Carbine is three shades beyond ugly as sin. Each to their own, I guess.

Low end price: Beretta CX4
Mid-tier: CZ Scorpion EVO
High End: MPX K

I own the CX4 and MPX K. The Sig is by far the best and most enjoyable shooter (probably of all my guns!). The CX4 is accurate, albeit a bit clunky and heavy. I have a butt load of 92F magazines which is convenient.

I shot my neighbor’s Scorpion and I liked it…comfortable and accurate.

I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them!

Ok yup, forgot about the Beretta CX4. You're right, great shooter and great price. You might
even argue it's the best value in quality. The MPX and CZ are simply more modular. Aftermarket
stuff alone keeps you busy with endless upgrades. I just bought a second MPX and already
spent lots of $$ on misc stuff for it. :)

It’s kind of a “feature” of the CX4 that there isn’t a lot you can do to it…definitely cheaper than an MPX K!!

The Ruger PCC is awesome. Very accurate and takes Glock mags which can be very inexpensive. I bought a 30 round magazine that was Korean made for 12 bucks.

I and my nephew and grandson have the Freedom Ordance FX9. This is a shooter and its MilSpec!
Have put thousands of rounds through mine and no problems. Ypu'll find the price middle of the
road. To check out this go to Freedom Ordnance.com.
You'll never regret owning one of these. American designed and made in the USA. This is one of if not
the really first of these type of shooters.
