Hey guys,

I am looking to purchase a compensator for my Sig 228.

The Co. that sells the compensator says an 11LB recoil spring is required for it to function correctly.

I went to Wollfs site & they do not list an 11 LB spring, searched the web, no 11 LB springs for the 228.

Any of you have any ideas where to get an 11 LB spring?

No , But I doubt that an 11lb spring would be strong enough to fire any ammo even subsonic.

While Wolff has lighter weight "Variable" weight recoil springs for P226s, normally I would say you could "cut" a conventional single wire spring to length, by using the same # of coils. In the case of these variable rate springs, the coils are spaced at different intervals, so cutting down a P226 spring for a P228 would be a little different.

I'd ask this manufacturer, of this compensator, "where" to get the springs they suggest you use!

I have a PMM comp on one of my P226's and it doesn't require a change in recoil spring. I have no affiliation with PMM but I'd trust a reputable brand name over something generic.
