They know you are the original owner because you fill out the registration card that comes with the gun and send it to them.

Not every original owner does that. In fact, I'll wager that the majority do not. They know you are the original owner because you fill out the registration card that comes with the gun and send it to them.
That’s the first thing I do when I get my piece ., 😆Not every original owner does that. In fact, I'll wager that the majority do not.
This is my experience as well, so most likely a nearly new Sig will also be able to benefit from a factory warrantyNot every original owner does that. In fact, I'll wager that the majority do not.

Nope. I have lots of Sigs, and the only ones I have registered are my Legion and Custom Works FCU'S to obtain the discount code. Otherwise for warranty work I just call CS, provide SN and that's it. I've never had an issue getting my Sig's serviced. That’s the first thing I do when I get my piece ., 😆
I do register warranty info and have on all my guns, online. Not every original owner does that. In fact, I'll wager that the majority do not.
That's old school. You can register your Sig firearms @ Sigsauer.comThey know you are the original owner because you fill out the registration card that comes with the gun and send it to them.
The one benefit to registering for warranty close to your purchase date is it likely speeds up the process if you have to call customer service. They already have my email address, shipping address, and the serial numbers for my P365 fcus on file. Both times I've had to call were really quick phone calls. I'm on my third front sight for my P365 and it took two months to get the replacement for the one they sent back the first time, but, despite their lack of supply of replacement front sights, the customer service experience was very hassle free. I didn't have to say much when I called.I think all you need is your receipt and you're covered. No need to "register". If I ever get turned down for warranty service because I didn't "register", that'll be the end of any purchases by me of their products.
I do register on line, not by mail. So I am not as old school as you think, you young whippersnapper. That's old school. You can register your Sig firearms @ Sigsauer.com
Me too!i am amazed what a high percent of my used Sig acquisitions were never registered by the previous owner. A nice bonus.
The nature of the repair will determine if the work is covered under that warrenty. For a minor issue they will not investigate the ownership status. Something major or a unit made many years ago and they will require proof of ststus.I always thought Sigs carried a lifetime warranty on the firearm, but it actually turns out it's the lifetime of the original purchaser. So I'm wondering, if a Sig needs repairs or replacement, how does Sig know you're the original owner, does Sig ask for a receipt or some proof of purchase?
