Issue with disassembly of p320 spectre

Hey everyone,
I’m new to the forms but I’ve looked through quite a bit and can not find anyone with the same issue as me. I put around 500 rounds through my new p320 spectre and went to go clean it. After cleaning and reassembling I noticed that the slide lock was not working. So when I went to go take it apart again the take down lever would not go down fully either. I tried until my fingers literally bled and even had a friend hold the slide back while I tried with gloves on. It’s almost like the slide isn’t going back as far as it needs to in order to engage the slide lock. Here’s a photo of it fully back.

I would bet $$ you put the RSA in wrong & it's jammed up now. If you look closely at the end of the guide rod that rests on the barrel block you can see that there are 2 'flat' sides and 2 are rounded. The flats need to be vertical to the barrel - see p. 67 of the manual.

I made this same mistake the 1st time I disassembled mine but was fortunate enough the slide would not fully engage & I just slid it back off & started poking around to see if others had trouble reassembling.

Maybe others will have suggestions on how to get the slide off.

I bet you’re absolutely right about the RSA this is my first SIG and I should have looked at the manual more closely before even taking it apart. I’m thinking about just taking it into the gun shop tomorrow and having them tear it about for me and confirm so I never make the same mistake again.
You might also want to try calling Sig customer service, they are usually very helpful.
I had this happen before I learned that the RSA has to go in a certain direction (which is stupid and unnecessary, no idea why Sig did that).

It took some doing but I finally got the RSA unbound. Pull the slide back enough to where you can get a pair of pliers on the guide rod. See if you can pull it forward and rotate the RSA until it's not bound up anymore.

Right you are! I'm a new owner (and member) here, and of course - when I got home the first thing I did was read through the manual and fieldstrip it. I had the most difficult time reassembling it properly - because the pictures and script in the owner's manual were rather uninformative, but finally figured it out after lots of sweat, tears, and swearing. If I compare the takedown of the Sig to my Ruger P95DC, it's rather complicated, but I figure that with practice it will become second nature...
