Is Sig still having GSG making the Mosquito 2018-2020?

Looking at buying a brand new mosquito never been fired. Can’t afford not to because of the price.

I understand it’s best to use a velocity ammunition.

If anybody has had problems with thirs, have they ever sent them back to Sig for warranty?

Thanks in advance

No, Sig separated from GSG I think around 2015ish. Now Sig makes there own 22 which is a great pistol.. take a look at the P322

BTW GSGs are low quality and don’t last
While I love my Mosquito (and haven’t had any real problems with it) I agree they are cheaply made and others have had trouble. Need to keep a clean/dressed breech face and polished feed ramp. Definitely go with the P322 if you are looking for a new 22 plinker.

Im with the other posters. Stay away from the Mosquito or the GSG equivalent. For $50-$100 more you could get a Taurus TX22 which was 2019's handgun of the year. I own one and love it.

For about what you'd pay for a sight upgrade and mag extensions for the TX22 you can get the Sig P322 that comes with 20 round magazines and 25 round mags available and adjustable fiber optic sights as well as a fixed barrel.

I have like 500 rounds of CCI Minimag Target 40gr copper plated round nose through a TX22 with zero failures. I've had a few failures out of a bulk box of Winchester SuperX. I think it was faulty primers. I fired a single magazine of Norma Tac 22 40gr LRN without any issues and I've got some federal punch on the way that I'd wager is going to run fine.

The one mosquito I've handled had multiple malfunctions out of a single magazine.

That's just my experience and my opinion though.
Slide cracked on mine after only a few hundred rounds. Think they use cheap pot metal in thee slides.
As a Mosquito owner, I regret the purchase though mine has been OK and not the nightmare so many others have experienced.
