If you had to choose just one manufacturer..

My brother in-law and I love having this discussion ever few years and I think it makes you think and have great conversations about guns.

Here goes!
If you could only choose one manufacturer of guns for the rest of your life who would it be? Now let me add some details. You have to use them for every task or purpose. For example handguns, rifles, hunting, etc.

My response has changed a bit over the years and my top three have moved around a bit.

1. With hunting included I have to say CZ because they make bolt actions and shotguns as well as tactical guns.

2. I would also have to put Beretta up there for the same reason of variety, but they lack bolt action or typical hunting rifles. They have by far better shotguns though.

3. when it comes to tactical firearms I would choose Sig as they have definitely moved into the outdoor world, except they don’t make shotguns. If you take out hunting, Sig would absolutely be my number one for the pure amount of variety.

Sig if you are reading this, how about a Sig take on a shotgun? That would be pretty cool!

I am curious as to what you guys and gals think. No right answers here as this is for fun and just opinions

Not going to make that call. There is no 1 company that can provide all my wants and needs in firearms.

It’s hard to pick isn’t it? There was a point a few years back that Colt would’ve been top five or so, but times change. Look at how fast Sig has expanded into the market from 10 years ago. Right now Sig is on fire if you ask me.
I grew up shooting Beretta's. I am now a firm Sig guy but I still do love me some Beretta's.

Hi-Point...

But seriously, if money were no object, probably HK. But no shotgun...

I'll have to take that back. Who makes decent semi auto and revolvers, bolt, pump, semi rifles, bolt, pump, semi shotguns, and PCC's?

You notice they were left off the poll? 😂🤣😂

Any poll of this sort that doesn't include Ruger is a flawed poll. Ruger is one of the biggest selling brands. Unfortunately they don't sell shotguns any more.

My pick is CZ. Superb bolt action rifles, excellent shotguns, terrific pistols (especially Dan Wesson), etc. They also have a great selection of quality rimfire firearms.

Though my name is Sig Bulldawg, I also have two master hunter Labrador’s and so I am a sucker for Beretta shotguns!
I'm an "other".... HK

Yeah, I tend to lean to the old school side of the world. So, for me if "there can be only one" I'd have to go with Smith & Wesson. They can cover all my revolver needs from. 22,.. 38,..357, .. .44mag. They have several 9mms that could work for me. And they have a couple of nice looking 1911s (if you can find one)

I'd hate giving up my Ruger .22 autos for the S&Ws models but I guess I could find one I liked.

Rifles and shotguns don't really concern me that much .... S&W does have an interesting .22 auto rifle that would probably plink as good as anything else.

I gotta ask too ... No Ruger? Not as big a fan of their revolvers but with all their other stuff I like, I'd find couple that would work... :pistol:

I would have to say SIG, simply because they make good guns in every category I want/need a gun for.

You are absolutely correct about not having Ruger. That was a major miss on my end! We have added them.

I agree that was a huge miss! I added Ruger as they have such a breadth of guns.

I know this is a Sig forum, but I didn’t vote Sig because of that. For me, Sig ticks the most boxes. I don’t “need” a shotgun, and I could hunt with my 716i if I had to. When it comes to pistols and tactical rifles, Sig is my preference. (Heck, they even make 1911’s to scratch that itch!)

Colt. I have more Colts than any other manufacturer followed by Ruger. I currently have guns from twenty different manufacturers.

I am a big Colt fan, I have fond memories with them. The first center fire pistol I ever shot was a Colt 1911 from WW2. I also always drooled over my uncle’s Pythons every time we had family gatherings to shoot…

What would you add? I am curious of what multiple gun manufacturer I am missing? There are no wrong answers, it’s preferences and for fun!
