I Feel Renewed !

I just picked up my renewed CCW permit this week. Hard to believe five years have passed. When I got my last one the fee was $75 but my renewal was only $50. $25 goes to the state and $25 goes to the county that actually does all the paperwork. You get two receipts. While we are a Constitutional Carry state it's worth it for all the reasons that have been discussed here before to have a permit.

So now I have my new 5-year permit, several options for carry guns and probably more ammo than I'll ever shoot. And I'm waiting on an order of 2500 .22lr rounds for plinking / practice, just to add to my backstock. Now I'll shoot when I can and sit back and see how the world around me goes. I'm in good shape.

Renewed mine this year- even though no longer required for residents (Ala)- it is still required if I cross state lines.
Had the option to get lifetime permit for $150 I believe?.....but I thought I'd wait in that.

Same here but in OH....I want to have that reciprocity for other states I travel that require it.

I renewed my Massachusetts license back about a year ago. One perk of being over 70 years old at renewal is that there is no charge. Normally it's a $100 cost every 6 years on your birth-date expiration. They make old timer's fishing/hunting licenses free too.

Getting mine renewed shortly. Again not required. Yet, useful when moving about.

Indiana went to life time permits awhile back, now they changed them to free permits. We went constitutional carry but it's still good to have that permit if you do any travel.

Well in in the land of communists, Illinois, and my renewal is 150 dollars after I spend 80 on a refresher class. To just get the permit for the first time is180-250 for the 16 hour class and the 300 for the permit, damn shame.

Wow, it's really quite different here. My first time through the "Class" was $60 and was about three hours ... one in a classroom and two on the range. And was conducted by a former Miss WVa / Miss America candidate and high school friend. The first permit fee was $75 ... $50 to the state and $25 to the issuing home county. As I posted earlier the renewal is $25/$25 .. state/county. And once I have my training class certificate I don't have to take any classes over again.
When I live in CT the class was 150 for an 8 hour class, once complete you had to apply to the town at 70, finger prints 65 and notarize 5. Wait 6-8 weeks for a background investigation and if approved go to the state and pay another 70 to get your state permit. So all for about $360 to your your permit. I think renewal is 70 after five years.
