How many P938 owners trust theirs for EDC ?

I'd like to suggest a poll. I'd like to see how many Sig P938 owners trust their pistols for EDC, verses how many have had failures of any kind. I'm lucky enough to have both a new P938 and a new P365. I bought the 365 first, but just bought the 938 because I'm a big fan of SA pistols. It worries me though, that post after post in the P938 forum are people with problems. So far just 50 rounds thru my 938. How many rounds do I need to fire before deeming it trustworthy? My P365 has fired hundreds of rounds without a problem. Please participate if you'd like, and for those that choose not to, no hard feelings!

I no longer own it because I couldn’t trust it. Had 2. Sold both even though I only had problems with one.

I've had my P938 for several years and it has been accurate and totally reliable from day one. After hundreds of rounds I have never had a failure of any kind. It is my favorite carry gun.

There are Thousands and Thousands of P938s being used as EDCs and BUGs Every Day same with the p365s.
Both have had problems in the past, so the Survey Is MOOT.
I bought a used 938 in 2012 and Sig fixed it completely.

In 2014 I got an SAS and it is my main carry. In my car when I don't carry it.
I have shot it a whole lot, and trust it completely.

Robert Burke used to link a video of a guy shooting 100 yards with his, and very very on target.
I have tried to search for that video.

Same here, flawless. When I got mine I polished the parts that were sharp to the touch. Trigger pull is great (no grit)

Even though I bought 3 triggers for it I never installed any.

The only thing I changed was the trigger face, I sanded off the groves on the face to make the trigger smooth.

It runs like a sewing machine. I don't use it as a range gun. I am really impressed on how accurate this weapon is!!

Oh yes, I forgot to say.. "I will never own a striker fired self defense weapon".

I voted "My P938 had problems repaired by Sig and is now my EDC," but now that I have a P365, that's going to change.

I voted flawless this gun is not really my edc. I carry it when my 320 is not practical.

Ditto, plus I use 8-round Kimber Micro 9 mags. Never had a problem with the gun or the mags. When I carry, it's my P938.

It's my EDC and has been for a few years now. No issues at all. Now and then, I carry something a little smaller; My 238.

Excellent!
the Survey Is MOOT.

Thanks for all the votes & comments, let's keep 'em coming! :)
Traded mine in for a P365 and have no regrets about that decision.

Is this a trick question? My guns all run dependable or I would sell them off. I've gotten rid of a couple of Taurus pistols in the past.

I have had a few problems with my guns but that was me running them dry or dirty.
ran my p365 for three months and 500 rounds before it had a ftf. Let it go a little too long without a little attention from me.

Data is data and can be useful, so I do not consider any feedback moot when I ask questions. I have 805 rounds through my P938. I can only recall of maybe 4-5 FTF or FTE out of all of 805 rounds fired. That is only .004-.006% (4 to 6 thousands of 1%). And those occurred during the first 200 rounds and could have been due to 1)my own limp hold adjustment to micro-compact, 2)different brands of cartridges, 3) residue buildup up on a feed ramp after 30-40 rounds fired or 4)general break-in. IMO, use a quality branded cartridge and fire 50-100 rounds. User field strip and clean. Use some light rail grease. Go through another 50-100 rounds and clean again. After a couple hundred rounds go though a box or two of 20 of defensive JHP rounds and if do FTF, FTE call it good. Keep records. If having problems contact SIG and send it in for inspection. If no problems then use for EDC. But I think it wise to fire at least 2 mags of FMJ and 1 mag of JHP each month, if not every two weeks. And remember the old saying “cleanliness if next to Godliness”. In this case means keep powder residue down. Also keep in mind that from pure statistics perspective the likelihood that your P938 will work correctly when you need it is far greater than the likelihood you will need to use it in self defense. Perhaps on the order of 100 to 1.

Just another Sig Armorer running his mouth 🙂

Not a trick question, but you made a good point. Looking for input from folks who either had trouble & sold them off or had Sig make them right.

And from people that have never had problems!

My math tell me that 4 failures out of 800 rounds fired is actually .5%, but your advice is good, and your points are well taken. Cleaning and maintenance are a good prescription for a firearm, or anything else mechanical running well. :)
I had one FTF with S&B 124-gr. ball somewhere in the first 14 rounds. After a box or two more, my trigger finger felt like I had been rubbing it on a cheese grater. I also felt like I needed a more substantial thumb safety paddle to rest my thumb on, so I sent it off to Robert Burke to have a trigger job and a Cylinder & Slide safety installed...

Blew through a couple of boxes of ball and a couple boxes of Federal HSt w/o a bobble when I got it back. Cleaned it, put it in the safe, and was going to order a pocket holster for it, but then the P365 came out, so... I got lazy and kept toting my PPS and G26 until I got a couple of P365s, then the XL came out...

Bottom Line: I don't know how to respond to this poll. I'd carry it if I had a holster for it, but the P365XL/P365 combo will be riding with me - except I'm packing my P226 Legion nowadays...

Back to the P365XL/P365

Never had a failure of any kind, and that includes cheap steel cased ammo for range use. Handles 124 grain HST's without a problem. I clean after every range session, and lube the rails, outside of barrel, and guide rod with "Lubriplate" grease.
This is my primary EDC.

You are correct. should have written 0.005 times or 0.5%.
