Instructions say pull out front pin holding upper and lower together and the handguard just pulls off. I cannot move mine. I took my light off and only other thing that could be causing a problem is a Troy folding front sight but doesn't look like it would keep the handguard from pulling off. Any help appreciated. DIdn't want to hit anything with a hammer.

You definitely want to make sure the front iron sight isn’t locking the handguard to upper. I’d take the front iron off. Handguards can stick a bit. You can try placing muzzle break flush to floor and pushing down on handguard using your weight. Can also put a dowel of some sort (narrow screw driver) through the guard just above gas adjuster and push down on both sides of dowel. You’re not gonna hurt the rifle.

Thanks for the reply, I was concerned about pushing on the barrel. I hate to mess with the front sight but I'll take it off if I have too.

My hand guard was hard to remove when I first got it. It gets easier after a few times.

Rattler/MCX barrels a pretty much bulletproof.
