Help me build 320 FCU for a Legion Slide

652 Views 8 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  MultiSync
Hello all,

I will be building a Legion soon. I need suggestions on the lower parts for this build.

I currently have:
  • Complete X-5 Legion Slide
  • 320 FCU (stripped)
  • Gray Guns Competition Trigger with Sear
  • Grey Guns Fat Stainless Guide Rod
Planning on purchasing:
  1. Wilson Combat Grip Module
  2. Gas Pedal takedown lever
  3. Lower parts
    1. As a kit?
    2. Or individually?
  4. Trigger arm
    1. Legion arm? (seems to be mixed information online if the arm is different than the regular 320 and if I can even order one)
    2. Standard Sig 320 arm?
    3. Apex arm? (is this recommended for use with the GG competition trigger kit?
  5. Anything else?
Trying to build a high-value build for lite competition use. Any input is appreciated!

I think Bruce recommends stock trigger bar with his triggers.

Thank you. What is your input on if the Legion trigger arm is different than the regular 320 trigger arm?

Only thing different in the legion fcu vs the original fcu is the flat trigger.

Great question and good luck with the build, I do a lot of builds myself. Question...what made you decide to go with the Wilson Combat module versus Sig's ? I'm looking into the Wilson myself for my next build so I'm just curious, Thanks.

I was looking to min/max this build and the price point of $70ish for the WC Grip Module is very good. Do some consider it an upgrade to the TXG? Most do NOT... If the TXG grip module can be purchased for $209 (currently at OP) then I might just be going in that direction. Because I am building from scratch, I would like to "build once, cry once" and that is the reason for me reaching out to the community. Another interesting option is GG's laser sculpted TXG at $359. Yes, it's considerably more expensive than the WC but paying for a grip job in the $100 range, for a tungsten-infused polymer, is good IMO. I am also interested in the TXG for the Legion because of the absorption (minimal) the polymer carries over the AXG or similar. The last option is Alma Cole's Grip Mod with a factory TXG. This also looks very promising and I can handle the modification.

Basically, with current considerations, it comes down to 5 options:
  1. Wilson Combat w/ weight kit ~ $100
  2. TXG w/ Alma Cole's Mod and silicon carbide work ~ $250
  3. Grayguns Laser-sculpted TXG (possibly w/ Alma Cole's mod) ~ $360
  4. Icarus - $400
  5. AXG w/ Gridloks brass - $500
As you can see, each tier has a much different price point and provides a much different feel on the pistol. I think many will argue, why change something that comes great right out of the box and go with the TXG?

Look forward to hearing your thoughts.

I have the TXG in medium now and am very happy with it in the current setup. I will be starting my new build going with the Wilson because of reviews and reputation, I have a hard time dropping $300 or more on a grip. I'm a pretty good shooter so it's more of aesthetics if you can understand that. I picked up a standard silver FCU for cheap and I'm working around that since I already have a Sig"Custom". To me it was hard to find the right trigger for your comfort. I personally like the curved smooth, I have a Apex and a GrayGuns Hybrid. I keep the stock flat skeleton trigger in the parts box. I love the fact I can change it all around when you want to.I found a Sig X Carry "M" grip on Wilson Combat site for $36 new just no mag release so I have that coming also. Never had a carry module. This is my TXG.... I couldn't stand that gray/green color so I painted it black. Trigger Grey Air gun Gun barrel Gun accessory

I had a Legion slide on a Wilson grip once. I really didn't like the balance, was a bit front heavy. Putting it on the AXG frame though made a ton of difference in feel and balance.
I use the Gray Guns trigger with the apex trigger bar no problems, I really like how it feels and resets. I don't use the Gray Guns sear though.
I ran my X5 Legion slide on an Icarus Socom for a while and found it balanced nicely. Ultimately I put the slide back in the original TXG grip to repurposes the Icarus for my P320 FS in 357 sig.
