Thinking of using my P229 Legion for home defense. What are the best options for a green laser/light with the Sig rail on the 229?

The Streamlight TLR-8A G is a great, compact light/laser with a very usable 500 lumens.

If you don't mind the extra bulk, the TLR-2 HL G has 1000 lumens. I have a little older version of it on my bump-in-the-night gun that has 800 lumens. Very easy to see around the cul-de-sac.

If you might cary the gun, the TLR-8 A G will be much easier to carry.

if you have decent budget, the no compromise choice is surefire x400u
extremely long throw for a compact wml and the laser has decent range as well.

if you are on a budget, the olight baldr pro is very similar, has low and strobe modes, and is more affordable.
i bought this last year and i realize some members are going to have feelings about chinese products.

both are fine for HD use.

for duty and end of world, i'd have more trust in the surefire and it is made here in the USA.

i don't normally run the baldr on the p229, but i put it on so you could see the fit.
it is slightly longer than the surelight.
both wmls come with a "universal" rail insert for mounting that fits the sigs rails, as well as a picatinny insert.
both have controls that are easy to reach with your trigger finger or offhand thumb in with your normal grip.

Second for the TLR8ag . . . I have one on my 229r and the fit is excellent. It has an insert that fits the 229r rail with no screwing around.

Of course not long after I got it they dropped the new version with better buttons.
