I have a sight pusher that is well built and should work with a variety of sights. The push block has a flat portion and angled portion for different sights for different pistol brands.
I have no use for this and came to the conclusion that instead of recouping a few dollars for it, passing it on to other ST members would have the most beneficial option.
I am sure there are members that rarely change sights, or have sights that may be off from the factory and need a little push to get on target how they want. So, for those that aren't interested in investing in a sight pusher, only need one for a quick job, or would like to learn how one works, this would be for you. - I sure could have benefited from something like this 15 years ago. When you're new to swapping sights it seems like a difficult task, so being able to get the first one under your belt for minimal investment should help folks.
The idea is simple. If a member wants to use the tool, they pay shipping costs for it to them. This pusher will fit in a small flat rate USPS box so that should be about $12.
One member pays the shipping to the sender, performs the needed job on their sights, and then holds onto it until another member pays them $12 shipping to pass it on. Once it is passed on all you are out of is the time you spent getting it shipped and $10 to get the tool in your hands.
The sight pusher in question is branded as "SightTool" and they have their own website/sell directly on a well known auction sight. I have no affiliation with them, but will say the tool is well built, especially for the $60-70 they go for new. Is it as fast to set up as some of the higher end ones? - No. Great for its intended purpose? - Yes.
All I ask is that each member that utilizes it:
1. Only passes it on to a forum member that is in good standing/vouched for/quality posts/etc.
2. Keeps track of who it went to.
3. Takes care of it and uses it properly when swapping sights, while also ensuring to protect their slide so no one complains about marks to their pistol (this happens if you don't take your time - I know from using pushers and punches).
4. Doesn't keep it/try to sell it.
5. Passes on any tips from using it (some folks don't have experience with sight pushers, so passing on any lessons learned in your past experience can help them), the good and the bad.
6. Doesn't charge more than what it costs to put it into a flat rate box from USPS (it fits in one just fine).
This tool goes for around $70 after tax directly from them (for those interested). However, with this program, each member should be able to spend $12 and then recoup it as soon as the next member wants it.
This tool is in mint shape as I didn't really use it. I just punch my sights out now.
Also, as stated above: whether using punches or a sight pusher, you can put marks on your slide if you don't protect it and/or get impatient. You can use tape, business cards, cloth, all sorts of items to protect your slide when working on it. As an example: when I punch sights out I put tape over areas near where the punch will be working and run a thick bull hide belt down the slide before it goes into the bench vise (sometimes wooden blocks also for vises with aggressive teeth).
Hopefully this will help some folks out in the future.
Thank you to the forum, and members, for everything I have been able to learn while here. Hopefully this will help some folks out here moving forward.
Stay safe and take care!

Here is the process that we wish to use to keep this simple and easy:
1) If you wish to use the tool, make a post in this thread FIRST stating that you're in for the loan and contact the last user via PM to arrange payment and shipping.
2) Once you have received the tool and are finished with it come back to this thread and make another post stating that it is available
3.) The next person who wishes to use the tool contacts the last user (see 2 above) via PM, arranges payment and the tool is then shipped
And the process will continue...
To the readers of this thread, please do NOT post in the thread unless you want to participate in the process. Other posting in the thread will just make it more difficult to manage the thread and for users to utilize it following the process outline above. It's OK to use the Like function though
Thanks to
@VA GS for making this possible
