FNX 45

I’ve never shot an FN, but I am drawn to this .45 I seen today at the shop. The P220 is my favorite gun, and .45 is my favorite caliber. I may try to find a used one instead of spending a little over $1400 after taxes and such, but I do want to shoot this little fella. I didn’t get a chance to put hands on it because I had to go to work and this place was slammed at the time.

Pull the trigger on this one before it gets away.....I paused on my opportunity to get one & am now kicking myself with regret since my state passed a 10rd magazine limit for new magazines & pistols. 😰
DONT LET THIS HAPPEN TO YOU!!!
I love my Sig STX 1911, but its single stack leaves me wanting in this day & age.
Once you put a red dot on it & get several 15rd magazines, not to mention a possible can, you'll be set & you will not be disappointed!!!! I would get the tactical version since it has the most options.....you don't have to use them, but they are there if you want to.
This price is ridiculous. If you want to go tactical just buy online. Kygunco got it right. Plus layaway is available.

After I got to looking I noticed they were a tad higher. That particular place seems to carry a higher price tag most of the time. I have also noticed some coming with 2 mags and some with 5.
I haven't bought anything newer than 80 years old in quite a while (I'm on a WWII kick) -- put the FNH/FNX is the one modern gun that could tempt me! A Tactical would go nicely with my Sig MODX-45... ;)

If it comes with 5 mags I can understand the price. These mags are $45 a piece right now. Still buying online and adding extra 3 mags will be cheaper than $1400.

ApexTactical.com has upgrades for FN pistols. Triggers are not as easy to install as Sig triggers though.

I have a FN FNX45 Tactical and it is a fine pistol with great features and a great reputation. That said, it is a platform that has been around for a while. Not that that is a bad thing, but there have been new models with new improvements that have been introduced recently.

I would suggest that you also check out the new FN545. It's ergonomics are better, from what I've been hearing the trigger is a lot better, and it's been getting really good reviews. Unless having a hammer fired version is more important to you, I would at least check it out and compare the two before you decide.

Even on GB with 5 mags they’re around $1200 I think. They’re all different prices I guess, but there are better prices new with mags on GB.

I have to shop for holsters for mine still. Those match perfectly, I'll have to do the same for an outside carry setup. It would be sinful to use black kydex on such a pretty pistol!

Main reason I want to shoot it first is the grip looks large and rough. I want to see how it feels in my hands while shooting it.
The FNX grip and its texture are near perfect for my large mitts. It's very akin to the HK USP45 grip, which is larger and more aggressive which makes it perfect for me.

Buddy has one. Yuge gun but great soft shooter. Suppresses well.

I’ve got a Glock 21. I don’t care much for Glock, but it was my first gun I bought and I’ll probably never get rid of it. It is very blocky and holds 13. I wish I’d have bought the P227 back then, but I didn’t want to spend the extra money on it. If I’d have known then what I know now about Sig, I’d have definitely saved a bit more for the Sig.

It's a nice pistol and if you really want 15 rounds of 45 it's one of very few options. Have you looked at/considered the HK's, they have a much better trigger, better build quality and better fit and finish. After getting the HK45 I sold the FNX to fund a HK USP 45. The HK is just a better product.

I lusted after the FNX-45 for years. I just couldn't spend the money on it when I have the P220. I eventually purchased a SIG 1911 (at a much lower price) after handling that FN and I do not regret it one bit.

Best of luck!
