FEG in Hungary is probably best known for their Browning HP clones. This P9RK variant is sort of a different horse indeed. All steel, double stack, 9mm and de-cocker. This one and some others, carried a model number of Kassnar's family initials. Kassnar and his father were the owners of KBI. This model is GKK-92C, his daughter initial's. Other family initials were used on others. Very well built and machined, with Browning style and a somewhat S&W model 39/59, trigger/safety.
Very accurate and dependable, with heavy DA trigger. Single action is much better. Very nice blue finish, components are tight and well finished. More or less a Colt Commander size and not too hard to conceal. Some on GunBroker try and pass the P9R variants off as a HP clone. It is NOT. These are very good quality pistols and can be purchased reasonably.
I have a FEG Hi-Power clone getting complete make over. I spent way over what the gun is worth, but less than a hi power would cost. Probably a bad decision, but it's going to be a really nice weapon when it's finally done. New trigger, match barrel, night sights, innards updated and polished, cerakote. Work is being done bhspringsolutions.
You cant, these havent been made in years, parts maybe Numrich or varies gun forums, at least with their Hi-Power clone you could use browning parts. I remember CDNN had a fire sale on these 20 years ago? i remember they were dirt cheap.
Many parts are available. Some are harder to find. Same pistol as the FEG P9R, and some parts from other FEG pistols will interchange/cross over. Also, same pistol as the Mauser 90-DA and Norinco clone NP-18.
I sure wish I'd kept a few. Once upon a time, I had an FFL and was ordering them dirt cheap. Unfortunately, I sold them all as many people wanted them after I cleaned them up, changed the sights when desired, and smoothed things up a bit.
Yes, the trigger system can be smoothed fairly easily. Not having a mag dis-connect is a real plus for many, unlike the standard BHP.
