dry fire training for P365XL and Mantis

Hi

I just sold my only DA pistol. I had been using it with a Mantis X2 dry fire unit and now need a new way to dry-fire.

I'm thinking of getting a CO2 P365XL to use as a trainer, but I'm hearing mixed reviews about it. I wouldn't be firing BBs, just using it for the Mantis.

Have any of you been down this road? Any advice? Alternatives?

Thanks!

IMO less important than the gadgets is figuring out what to focus on while you dry fire. Pull the trigger, rack slide repeat.. that's just going to train bad habits. You're giving up all of the fundamentals after every trigger press. You want to maintain them through an entire magazine.

Focus on that good stance.. stiff wrist.. good grip, good sight picture. Hold that for a bit Pull the trigger without moving the sight while holding that. Hold your stance wrists, grip, and sights for another 10 seconds after that. Maybe work the dead trigger. Do that 10-20 times a day for a month.. results.

Until I figured that much out I could hit anything I wanted to with a laser cartridge but put live ammo in the gun and it'd show me something I was doing wrong.
Thanks! You make a good point about focusing on the basics before I start worrying about gadgets....
I purchased the Mantis system in February to help me with adapting to SigP365xl with Trijicon RMR. I practiced almost daily for 60 days. 50 “shots” per day, thinking cold weather and expensive ammo prices justified the purchase. I practiced many of the drills and revisited fundamentals of good grip, good sight picture, and smooth trigger pull. My scores continued to improve each time I used Mantis.
When Spring came and I went out to the range, my accuracy was significantly better. Follow up shots were much quicker and more accurate. The Mantis system simply put, gives you some data that you can use to make your fundamentals better. It’s a small price to pay for the confidence, and accuracy you will instinctively get from using it.

Thanks! What do you mount your Mantis to?

I'm looking for a way to use the one I have, but don't have a DA pistol anymore. I'm thinking of using an airsoft P365 ...
I have the Dvorak CO2 trainer in my 226 and a Mantis X. Have a recoil operated trainer greatly improved my game. Dry fire alone does have it's uses but CO2 takes it to the next level.

The mantis Laser Training Academy come's with a Laser round you put into the chamber of your gun. I have a P320 X-Compact.
the mantis system can either mounted to a Picatini rail if you have one, or it can be mounted with 2 sided tape to the base plate of your magazine. It measures movement before, during and after the trigger pull.
To clarify -

I'm familiar with how the Mantis works, I've been using mine for several years. My problem is finding a substitute pistol (airsoft maybe?) to attach the Mantis TO. (I no longer have a pistol that I can use in DA mode)

I'm trying to avoid having to re-rack the slide between shots. What I -need- is a recommendation for how to avoid doing that. That's why I'm asking about airsoft, etc. The Dvorak system looks fantastic, but they don't make anything that works with any of the guns I have.

THAT is my question.
