Disappointed in the color of my new coyote P365 Spectre Comp slide.

Howdy!

I received my P365 Spectre Comp slide today. I decided to go with coyote slide and also ordered a Spectre Comp coyote grip module to go with it. I had all the other needed parts. To say I’am disappointed in the color of the slide is a under statement. It doesn’t even come close to matching the grip module.

Yes, this is the old 50 shades of Sig FDE issue. Even their guns that are sold complete don't match. I got the coyote slide as well but could tell from the picture it was too dark to match so I knew I was doing it on a black grip. I will say I like yours with the distinct difference better than the ones that are close but not a match.

Just like the SCAR in multi shades of FDE. Lol.

Aside from color, are you happy with how it shoots?
I just put it together today, haven’t had a chance to get any trigger time with it yet.

Brown and grey are some of the hardest colors to match and get consistently the same.

I have plenty of experience trying to get grey anodize to match even from the same lot. PVD (which is what sig uses for slides) is better for same lot color but still varies greatly from lot to lot

I would call sig before shooting it just to see what they say. That seems a bit dark for FDE or Coyote.

Worst case you can have it refinished.

I understand your disappointment, but as far as a two tone brown it’s pretty attractive

With all the pictures online plus the m17 and m18 why would you think they were anywhere near close?

Actually I think it looks good that way. A closer match would be dorky, but that is nice contrast. My opinion, your gun. Oh well.

I think it looks good as well. That's exactly why I built the one I am.

I love the color. The slide is more like a "Patriot Brown" or "Chocolate Brown" (Cerakote). I think the two tone look is way better. When an entire pistol is in some sort of warm color it looks like a crayon to me. It's like wearing the same exact shirt and pants (save for black or grey firearms). In addition to aesthetics, the idea of a two tone is to break up the shape of the gun (simple camo).

Well maybe I have bad taste but I think its really a cool looking gun with a great color combo.

I think it looks pretty good, to be honest. I've done a few finishes myself where everything matches perfectly and in the end I felt like it detracted from the overall appearance of the gun. The difference in shade and color intensity gives a bit of dimension. But I can understand being disappointed when the color isn't what you expected or wanted. If it was mine I'd drown my sorrows by shooting the snot out of it. Looks like it'll be a great shooter.

Just looking at that and visualizing a bit. How would it look if the textured parts of the grip and the magazine extension were painted to match the slide?
I'm not much of a customizer, so I might not have a good feel for this sort of thing.
The slide contrast looks intentional. It is the close but no cigar magazine base pad mismatch that I find odd.
