I have a sig m400 with a carbine length magpul MOE handguard and picatinny rail gas block. I have tried to supply a picture but not sure if it will work. I am trying to change the handguard to a mid length magpul MOE. can anyone help me out with the best way to do that? Do I need to add a low profile gas block? any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

geomac89, welcome to Sig Talk from the southwest corner of Indiana.
Unfortunately a mid-length handguard will not fit the carbine length gas system. If you are looking for something a little longer than what you currently have, check out the Magpul MOE-SL Carbine handguard which should enclose the gas block on the sides and bottom.
To use a MOE mid-length handguard, you would need a barrel with a mid-length gas system.

Make sure that the handguard retaining cap on the M400 is round on your particular version. The Magpul SL's will not work with triangular types.
Also remember to use metal iron sights on that gas block. The polymer ones will melt after prolonged shooting.
