Do you conceal carry at a funeral?

Carry at a funeral

So a few weeks ago I had to attend my son’s grandmother on his mothers side (one of the ex-wives) and asked my wife to attend with me and she said ”NO” and I didn’t respond other than ok, well the day of she‘s like where are you going, why are you all dressed up like you going to a funeral.…..lol If I didn’t love her but she can’t remember a thing. We got into a heated adult conversation and then when she saw me pick up my EDC she was like “ you’re not carrying at a funeral” I’m like really, I’ll see you when I get back.

Now I say yes because we got divorced in 1993 and my son is 32. While I will know people attending there will be others I do not know. So sorry not sorry for carrying.

to carry at an old woman's funeral isn't a hill worth dying on

there will be others there that may have issues w/ somebody else...

Ok wife just came in from store and another death in family, her cousin from Milwaukee was in his late 30’s had high blood pressure and diabetes and was not under control with medication. I know I’ll be carrying in Milwaukee without a doubt.

Sorry to hear of your loss but not sure I follow. Was he attacked by another human being, or was this another American lost to the C-19 “vaccine”?

From what she told me just untreated medical issues.

I would say it’s not unusual nor unacceptable to carry at a funeral. Danger can pop up anywhere, so it’s best to have a piece handy as much as possible. And as has been said, something could easily happen in transit, not just at the funeral.

You might find as I have that people who know you well know that you carry, that they expect it, and that they feel a bit safer knowing someone is armed and ready should emergency ever require an armed response.

OP I am sorry about the deaths in your family. Death sucks. Spread love while you’re here, tomorrow is not promised.

I know I read that story a few hours ago myself.
Carried today at my Dad's funeral. Wasn't needed but, you never know.

I’ll probably be carrying at my own funeral.

Over the years, I have learned to turn my "packing" side away when hugged... ;)

If anyone has ever noticed, they have never mentioned it...
i hope you don’t carry appendix. Someone comes in for a hug and they’re wondering why you’re turning your butt towards them….:ROFLMAO:

Never carried appendix (AIWB) or small of back (SOB) both seem unnecessarily dangerous, for different reasons ;)

Carrying a firearm to a funeral or any other event is a personal choice and ultimately depends on individual circumstances and beliefs. It is essential to check the laws in your state or country regarding concealed carry and any restrictions that may be in place. Additionally, it is necessary to consider the emotional state of those attending the funeral and how carrying a firearm may impact them. Hope it helps! If this is still relevant for you.

I have been known to carry a pair or Ruger LCP's while at events requiring a suit. Of course, I'm old school so I attend funerals, weddings and church in a suit, or at least tie and jacket.

Primary reason I bought the Ruger LCP Max was for events where I was wearing dress slacks/suit and couldn't belt carry

Old thread, but my response typically goes:
“Are you carrying?”
“Am I wearing pants?”

If it’s in the farming community just north of me, maybe not. If it’s in Detroit just south of me, without a doubt. Might not even go to that one.
