Why a Bul SAS over any other compact/micro pistol? It looks a little goofy being so short but that obviously doesn't affect your shooting.

I could not agree more with your assessment of Bul Armory firearms. The quality is outstanding and the value is unbelievable. From the day I opened the box on my SAS 11 UL I was blown away which was further substantiated on my first day at the range. The value one gets from Bul is just unmatched in my experience. Not even mentioning the beautiful machine work on my 1911 Bul Govt., the trigger on mine is absolutely perfect outta the box. A creep free break at 3 pounds. The action is just exceptional as well. Very easy to manipulate and nary a malfunction. The sights are just dead nutz on.
I mean it's just hard to believe what ya get for $890
- although, they are $1350 now if not mistaken - for their 1911 series. And, still worth double that or more imo. I both shoot this Bul & like it better than my 2013 DW Specialist I had. Hands down. I know that comment may raise a lot of eyebrows but, it is what it is. And, I'm certainly not the first to say that either.
& that's no strike against Dan Wesson. As far as components go, they can't be beat for the money.
But as far as a shooter - this Bul Armory is the finest 1911 I've ever shot. I wish the finish on the gun were better and I also wish she had better sights. But, my God, it shoots like an X5. She's that smooth and accurate. The bull barrel probably plays a part in that ease of shooting accuracy. All I know is that the first time I shot her, I was - like I hit the jackpot so to speak. Finally, a 1911 that was just perfect - for me anyways. - well, almost perfect. I still want a better finish on it and better sights. But, as for everything else, she is perfect. She's also the easiest 1911 I've ever had to field strip and put back together. As an example, when ya reassemble her, there is never any 2nd or 3rd try at getting the slide stop back in. This Bul 1911 is just a JOY, period.
Since I've had my Bul 1911, I've not even thought about getting another 1911. Mainly because to match it, I would have to get a NightHawk, or a Wilson Combat. And to be honest, I would just rather buy another Bul and put the savings into a better finish and better sights. I hope this helps answer the question why Bul and not another in the price range?
Bul Armory is in a class of its own.
Here's a couple pics of what I'm talkin about. That target is from 7 yards - it was only the 2nd ever magazine that I Shor thru her. 8 rounds of run of the mill 230gr fmj, on hind legs. Man, was I a happy camper that day!
