Looks good. Did you do the whole barrel, or only the hood?

Looks good. Did you do the whole barrel, or only the hood?Hey,
Can't find stainless steel barrel for my P365-380 anywhere ,,
So I polished it and the feed ramp too .. turned out great ..
Went to range and shot 200rds smoothly .
Next is my M-Carbo Flat trigger so they will match ..![]()
Just the hood for now .. wouldn't be hard thoughLooks good. Did you do the whole barrel, or only the hood?
Shouldn't be that bad ,That is gonna look smashing with some rust patina.
Haahaaa.. it’s funny you said it that way .. 😆"Guy jewelry"
Nice.. that looks like laser engraving ..?Reminds me of the guy I used to know, that had the exposed chamber hood of his West German P226 9mm barrel "jeweled/engine turned"...
View attachment 456373 The Chief wasn't happy that he had it done to his duty weapon... 🤬
No, actually done several ways, some use a drill press with either a cratex tipped tool to produce the swirls, some use a small circular wire brush, with abrasive paste. Known by several terms, "engine turning" "jewelling" are just a couple.Nice.. that looks like laser engraving ..?
I believe the more recent and current production are Chrome-Moly; high tensile strength and good corrosion resistance. Are these barrels stainless?
Contrary to many beliefs, stainless is rust resistant, not rust proof... some alloys are better than others, and quite an improvement over common carbon steel alloys. Are these barrels stainless? If so they shouldn't get any rust patina. I was considering cerakote on my former Leo P229 but got mixed reviews, some people swear by it, others say it's garbage! I don't know because I do not have any experience with the process. The frame is flawless no Nicks dings or scratches, the slide has a few minor imperfections, not bad at all considering its age and probable history,AL48XXX. So was considering stripping and brush finishing it. Anybody out there done that yet, if so how'd it turn out?
I polished the barrel on my CZ 75 probably 5 years ago and it doesn't have a spec of rustThat is gonna look smashing with some rust patina.
