WOW!!
I think that I'm as relieved as sandflea49 is!
As soon as he slid on the Slide the Barrel just dropped down into the front of the grip module...just as I thought no support from the Recoil Spring.
I will say that I did not think that he got the slide that far back.

What a difference a picture does to shed some light on the situation.

Well I'm just glad that everything worked out OK.

You should do it all again and see if depami's fix will work a second time.

Do it for the community. ;)
I suspect depami can make it rain if he wants to. I owe him a giant debt of gratitude. When that slide came off in my hand, I couldn't believe my eyes, I sat there in shock! The shipping label from Sig was printed and I was reading the shipping instructions. His fix was like a miracle. Thanks again depami!

"Depami's Procedure" sounds like one of those fixes originally happened upon in a moment of "dang, I broke it" terror. Good he remembered how he did it! :)

I'm trying to understand what happened here -- what was holding the slide on the frame? It could not have been the takedown pin if pushing it forward was sufficient to take it apart. It sounds like something to do with the sear or sear disconnect was holding it in place. Anyone?

What was the point in bringing this thread back to life?
It had drama, suspense, a hero, and a happy ending.
This isn't even a bad sequel.

Now, if the resurrector had managed to jam up his gun, and this thread helped him, that'd make for a better story.

In another forum a guy said, and he was blasted for it, "that some people shouldn't owns guns, just because they can" some times I agree with him.

Pull the slide as far back as you can.
Then push it as far forward as it will go.
You should feel resistance from the striker spring.
Maintain forward pressure on the slide and pull the trigger.
Release the trigger and the slide should come off to the front.
That did the trick. Thanks. I will repost in the Sig Gunsmithing thteads.
