Another P229R magazine question

So will a P229R (non E2) take a new factory 13 rd magazine marked 228/229? My understanding is it will just be a little loose.

The newer P229-1 has a slightly wider magazine opening then the older P228/P229 9mm frames
YES, the older, narrower magazines will fit, function and as you stated, just be a little loose.
Personally, I would be cautious carrying that combo for a self defense situation because you never know....

Ok thanks. So P229-1 refers to any P229 manufactured after 1995 (non German made)?

Do you know what year the rails appeared?

No.

And rail has nothing to do with what type of mag the gun can take.

^^^ Based on that pic of your P229, stay away from the 229-1 mag, and you are gtg.
