Aluminum base plates to fit 15rd mag & Wilson combat compact GM

Hey guys. Does anybody know of any aluminum base plates that will fit up in the Wilson combat compact grip module? The ones I had previous, the tabs on the sides were too thick and I don’t want to modify them to fit as they fit with my other grip module.

Brownells is where I have had good luck in the past.

I am using the Gray Guns base plates with the Wilson Combat grip for my X Compact..they work well. GG offers a deeper version for use with magwells; to be clear, this is the shallower of the two they offer.

Too funny, but I just went thru all this and did the final fitting work on my WC grip earlier today.

I have the Armory Craft base plates.
AC states they do not work with the 15 rnd 320 mags, but that's not entirely true - they do work with many grips but not all, the WC being 1 of them.

Had to carefully dremel/sand & feather the little angled 'tangs' at the back part of the grip, then sand down the rest of the lip maybe 1/16th of an inch. I noticed the AC plates cant up in the front just a tad, so I took a little more off the edge around the front strap. I used the dremel on the tangs and sand paper + a block on the main lip. Went with 320 grit to 220 to 1000 (wet) to finish then buffed with the dremel.

Took a little while to do as I wanted to take off the lest amount of material to make it work, so there were plenty of stops, quick clean-up, test & rework iterations (yes, yes I'm OCD :ROFLMAO:  ).

Sorry I have no pics, but I dropped the camera last week and it's DOA. Having a hard time finding a new one that's not ridiculously expensive due to the chip shortage

Another one that works with the WC modules without modification is Hilton Yam’s 10-8 Performance brand; I am using a couple of those on my XFull in a WC module for 17-round magazines, and will be buying more of them.

Interesting idea. I’m not a big fan of the lip created by the front of the magazine base plate with the front of the WC module. I just tried swapping a Henderson Group/Legion base plate onto a 15 round magazine. It looks great, but the grip module interfered a very small amount. Probably fixable by removing a very small amount of material from the grip module.

I think you’ll like the GG for your 15-rounders..

Ahh, I can see why — mine will fit but are bit sticky..you’d have to file a tiny bit off the plastic X Compact WC grip for the 10-8 pads to drop free…

They work fine on the 17s so I will stick with the GG for the 15s..

I think NDZ Performance will work. I put some of theirs on Sig Italian magazines and they worked fine in anything but the X grip, and they do state that in the description. They even have them for 45 magazines (what I bought) and a few 45 grip modules left in black and the tungsten gray Cerakote.
