Will someone please help explain the variations between the 716 and the 716 DMR?

Sig's website is kinda vague but just looking at the pictures the hand guard, butt stock, barrel and muzzle device are different. And even though the site doesn't say it I believe the DMR has a 2 stage trigger?
Sorry but that's all I can offer, my 716 is a gen1 and I don't know anyone with a new gen2 so there new to me.

I have a 716 DMR gen 1. It is VERY heavy about 11 1/2 pounds with Vortex optics. It is amazingly accurate at about 1/2 MOA. It is too heavy for me to carry in the field comfortably but great from a blind or stand.

I have the Gen 1 DMR. I had an 18" barrel vs 16" of the Gen 2. The former is heavier due to barrel and different forearm hand guard that is lighter on the 1. Butt stock also different . Barrel on Gen 1 is threaded with no muzzle flash or brake. These changes alter the balance and weight of the gun.

Can't talk to the differences with the patrol model except for butt stock, hand guard and shorter barrel.

My Gen 1 DMR is very accurate. Suitable for bench, long distance and counter sniper shooting. Gen 2 may be more suitable for hunting.

I think I like the 18" barrel better than the 16"

I don't own one but I was looking at them. Not a keymod fan either.
