365XL W/Holosun 507K

I am about to pull the trigger on a basic 365XL. I am going to purchase a Holosun HE507K for it but have a question about the rear backup sight. I am aware that the backup iron on them are less than suitable as a primary sight but just wanted to know if people experienced them to be at least reasonable for 21 feet and in defensive accuracy. Being unadjustable I just want to know if they are even useable as backups.

Shot an XL with the Romeo optic and the backup on that seemed "reasonable" as far as being useable in a pinch.

I don't find the iron sights on the 365 XL are "less than suitable" at all. I hit very well with them up to 15 yards. If you're concerned about "backup" sights on an RMR, don't be Several months ago I took the battery out of the red dot on my Hellcat, and fired it at 15 yards. I fired rounds at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock on the target, and all of my rounds hit with at least disabling shots. Last month, I read where the "Armory Life" magazine tried the same test, with the same results. Botton line: if the dot fails, frame your target in the window and you will hit your target.

Personally i think the built in rear sights on the 507K are fine. They are only there to be used as a backup in case the dot malfunctions.

At least with my XL the 507K and the stock front sight produce a 6'oclock hold though and you can really only see the tip of the front sight.

Rear sight notch in the Holosun is sufficient
I have two P365XL's with the HS507K X2 mounted. I have only used the rear sight twice as I find the 507K X2 is highly effective for me from 25yds in. If you intend to use the rear sight through the HS507K X2, I've heard some put a higher rear sight on. Personally, I think the RDS is more than enough, as I said, out to 25 yards.

I shoot the “notch” of my 407K and stock front sight on my P365X just fine. It’s more than adequate for BUIS use.
For the sights you get out of the box, they are fantastic.
Thanks guys that’s what I figured. I pulled the trigger on the pistol. Now to order the Holosun

I will find out this weekend. Just installed a 507on my XL slide this week.
What everybody has already said...!
Holosun rocks.
Hope so. Seemed a bit blurry when messing around with it during installation. Mine is the green version and I will have to get it to the range and see which mode and brightness level work best for me. Read up on the astigmatism angle and different reticle, etc. but have not had a problem with the Romeo.
I too just bit the bullet so to speak. I ordered a 407k for my 365xl. Looking forward to see what all the hype is about. Lol

I had never even shot a pistol with a red dot before. I just went to the range to try out a 365XL and the model they had there had the Romeo already on it. I was instantly hooked on the gun and also loved the optic. For a self defense weapon a red dot just seems to make sense.

I got the green dot version though just because I know personally green typically pops to my eyes better than red does
