365 issue

2126 Views 22 Replies 18 Participants Last post by  MAGon121254
Hello first let me say this is my first post so thank all of yall in advance for any help. So i have been building a p365. All oem internals as far as slide completion kit and recoil spring. It is a sig xl grip with the short 365 slide and a pmm micro comp. And barrel. THE PROBLEM is that it doesnt fully eject the spent casing and wont lock back on last round. Occasionally it will cycle properly at the end of the mag but never lock back. Any help ia awesome. Thanks. Also not sure if the pics are good enough to help if need be i can upload more.

Put it back to the original configuration and it'll work just fine.

and make sure you’re not touching the slide or slide-stop with your thumbs while firing.

Is your grip pressing down on the slide lock? Are you holding the pistol firm enough to avoid limp wristing?

Welcome. The lock back issue could be caused by your thumb riding the slide lock/release lever. If you haven’t already, completely disassemble, inspect ALL parts and lube it to the WET side. Once assembled, rake the slide numerous times without a mag then insert a empty mag and see what happens.

I bought all the parts seperate so this is the original configuration. And according to sig these are all compatible parts. So that shouldnt be the issue.

If the fired shell casing is still in barrel and not extracting this issue probably is a broken or chipped extractor and/or weak extractor spring.

No it keeps stove piping. Seems like recoil spring is to stiff. But idk

Likely you either need to use stouter ammo or a lighter recoil spring with that comp.

Agreed. Stronger ammo or softer spring. Considering it’s a comp…. Go for the higher powered ammo

Thank you to all of yall. Ill give it a try.
I'm guessing you're shooting 115 grain ammo... Go with something like 147 and see if you have the same results. Try a few different varieties of weights / ammo...

Good luck and God Bless,

You've got a Comp on there.... what ammo are you shooting? it needs more gas.
Remove the Comp and see how it shoots. I bet your problem will go away, indicating stouter ammo is needed.
How many mags do you have?
Are they marked or labeled so you can identify which mag is in the gun when it malfunctions?
Is the issue happening with all the mags, or just one of them.

Turns out yall who said heavier ammo where right. Put some 147g in there as opposed to the 115 and she ran like a dream. Thanks to everyone who replied.

I was looking at adding a compensator to my P365 as well and was looking at Sigguy website and with all compensators he suggest tuning recoil kits because pistol will now handle differently, not sure if its ur problem but as others said remove comp and see if it shoots ok then. If so do the research on tuning kits here's his linked website and watch that installation video (I know you don't have Armory craft comp but with all comps he highly suggest getting recoil kits) SIG Sauer P365 Steel Compensator by Armory Craft - BLACK | Sig Guy LLC .......hope it helps.

If you have re-checked the obvious and not-so-obvious several times and still can’t find the issue, maybe get someone else to take a look—like an armor at your local range. Doesn’t seem as though you should have to use a more powerful load to get the gun to fire. Might be a just minor tweak. Hope it works out. 😀
