226 mk25 grip size

Does anyone know if the standard MK25 grip is the same or less than this 229 Equinox grip? See photo. I just measured my Equinox and it shows 7-3/8" around the trigger and grip. I think I've seen another image floating around that shows 7-1/4" for the MK25. Anyway, I wouldn't want the MK25 grip to be any larger than this 229 grip. 7-1/4" would actually be better. I also don't want the E2 grips. Thanks.

Again, someone gave me an excuse to pull out a new in box, never fired item that hasn't seen the light of day in years. Below, trying to mimic your measurement style, it shows the same 7 3/8". Does this help?

Sorry, I realized you could not actually see the factory grip panel, so I added a second image below.:

sigamore, you'll get a shorter measurement, when the Hammer is cocked, like you have it...

RJ Lane, here is a comparison I did several years ago using a dressmakers tape comparing P226 grips, the OEM polymer, and Sig Branded G-10s of the period...

I did think later about the point you're making about the hammer position. Still, your image shows the MK25 to be a little less than what I'm measuring on this 229. Hey, every little bit helps. This 229 grip is plump.

That could be likely due to the Short Reach (Thin) Trigger I had, compared to your standard Trigger.
Good point. I guess this is also why the E2 grips became an option.
Sorry, was my new in box MK25 and I didn't think to reset. New image added above, showing the same 7 3/8".
Anyone know what the E2's or Hogue G10's measure? I thought I heard the Hogues were a bit thinner than standard grips, but now I'm not sure since I think Hogue makes the Sig branded G10s that appeared to be the standard size.
I haven't done any measurements, but I can tell you what my highly calibrated hand says. My 229 is chunkier than my 226 to the point that the 229 hurt the knuckle of my thumb at the webbing when shooting. But I can shoot the 226 without issue. I ended up putting thinner G10 on the 229 and all is well.

The Hogue G-10s are the same as the Sig Branded G-10s I showed above, so this may answer your basic question about E2s, this is for a P229, but similar measurements comparing E2s to standard 2 piece grips! It's the G-10s are a little wider, but shorter fore and aft, that create the same circumference between the G-10s and Standard grips.
