Where did they all go? I figured with the new 322 and others high cap 22’s available, the p226 or p228 22 exchange kits would become somewhat more available. Wow was wrong. Perhaps it’s too soon yet.

When one shows up here it disappears quickly - and often at a staggering price. My question is - where are all the magazines?
While the P322 may be the "Cats Meow", it's not a Hammer Fired Classic... it doesn't use the same Manual of Arms, as the Classic Sig Sauer Centerfire models. That's why the Conversions are sought after... and likely your reason as well.

The Magazines can still be found, and at the typical Sig price tag of close to $50 apiece. While P226 are more prevelant than P220s, they can also be used for the P228/P229 as well.

My suggestion would be to check both Gun Broker, as well as ebay often.

The new P322 doesn’t give me a reason to sell my P226/22. Or any other classic 22 conversions. P322 is probably very good for what it is, but it’s not an all metal 22 with the same trigger/feel etc as the 9s on up

Did I do something wrong? I posted a link to a .22 cal P226 Sig Conversion Kit which was in-stock but it was removed...why?

It was a bogus website... no contact info and only took Zelle and crypto for payment.

Beware on ebay, there is a ".22 Conversion" Slide only that's been advertised for some time, with a German heritage. Sig Sauer P220 pistol, .22 LONG RIFLE slide | eBay While this may have been a version available in Europe, decades ago, it has no similarity to the versions available here. I would almost guess it used a floating chamber, similar to the early Colt Ace, since being a steel slide.

They were manufactured byu Hammerelli, not Sig. When they parted ways with that division the project came to a end. They were very well made.
I bought my P220, P226 and P229 years ago with the .22LR slide for ~$550 each. Then added a centerfire X-Change kit for ~$320 that approximated the cost of the pistol in my desired caliber. I am only using the P226 .22LR slide on a regular basis. Time to sell the others?

I picked up one some years ago and had an educational experience when I finally used it.
It was new but when I fitted it to my P220 I kept getting failures to eject no matter what 22LR ammo flavor I tried.
I even had someone else try it to make sure I wasn't influencing the cycle. Nope. Checked lubrication. Not the problem. Went through the list. No luck.

Finally- I became curious and ordered another recoil spring. That was it. It appears it came with an incorrect strength recoil spring. After I popped in the proper weight spring it cycled perfectly with no errors. It now handles all types of 22LR and works just fine, (aside from the OEM magazines being kinda steep).
