Those of us on staff of SigTalk are concerned with the overall tone the forum has taken over the last couple of months. Most recently there has been a lot of bashing one another over Glocks and SIGS, with many threads and posts having to be removed as a result of it. Personal attacks have risen, bickering between a number of members is rising (you know who you are and so do we), and civility among some members - both old and new - has required a serious effort to monitor and control.

We have tried hard to allow threads and discussions to run their natural course as members have been able to maintain a level of civility between one another without moderators or admins stepping in to sort things out.

Until recently this site rarely had issues and has now become a bit hostile - fueled mainly by members who must have forgotten their manners as well as the site rules. This situation certainly taints the forum and affects all who participate. This has to stop and stop now!

Any antagonizing of another member in any Forum will not be tolerated. Starting threads to instigate trouble won’t be tolerated. Any personal attacks on another member will not be tolerated. Any member that steps beyond this line will be dealt with individually by the administrators and moderators of this site. We expect people to behave like adults on this site and not have to be babysat. Those that fall into the latter category are, and will be, dealt with accordingly.

From the general forum guidelines for SIG Talk:

"In an effort to make SigTalk.com more enjoyable for our members, we have adopted the following simple posting guidelines. We’d prefer not to moderate a single post, but not all of our members feel that way. We’re trying our best to find a happy medium but as this forum grows many situations will need to be handled with care. It is our goal to keep a family friendly forum. If your post is NSFW (Not Safe For Work), it probably doesn’t belong here. Thanks for your cooperation and understanding in creating an enjoyable atmosphere for everyone.

Respect other members. Do not flame, badger, disrespect or taunt anyone on the forum. If we feel a thread is getting out of hand we will close it or delete it without notice. A healthy debate is welcomed and encouraged. Personal attacks and name calling serve no purpose on this forum. Please be respectful to your fellow shooting enthusiasts whether they are new shooters or seasoned veterans (we were all new once). You can, and will be banned if you continue this type of behavior."

ANYONE using this site is encouraged to use the "report a post" button on any post that they feel violates either the rules or the spirit of the rules that are the guidelines that manage this forum. Moderators should not be expected to read every thread and every post, so all members have a responsibility to act as good stewards of the site by using that tool if they think that a violation has occurred. We will determine if there is an issue and take appropriate action as it warrants. ALL reported posts are dealt with in a timely manner. Please use the tool!

Thank you for your involvement with SIG Talk. The administrators and moderators of this site look forward to your continued contributions to one of the finest firearms forums on the internet.

Unfortunately - it looks like it's time for some of our members to take another read of this. Of late, civility seems to be lacking and more posts and threads are having to be monitored. I get that it's been a rough year. Taking out hostility out on one another is like eating your own (to quote Harry_Gorilla). It's time for that to stop and for the community to come together and be respectful of one another's opinions. You can disagree on almost anything but at least be civil about it.

Please reply with TTT (To The Top) if you've read this, thanks.

TTT. It’s not so much the tone, it’s the hair trigger that seems to have developed. I don’t stage triggers, and I hope to never be accused of conversing in that manner. I want to hear opposing views, and not Immediately go into attack mode. My apologies.
