So I bought two from GB years ago and restored one. It’s my EDC right now, despite my Glock 32.4. For some odd reason the P229 carries more comfortably IWB; must be my funky body shape (5’8”; 175lbs).
Is there anyone left who carries this weapon, particularly the DAK? Just wondering.
Cheers.
I’m thinking about getting a set of DXT2 sights for my P229 DAK in .357Sig. This is an older piece, born in 2006. It presently has Sig X-RAY sights, which are OK. But I have Big Dots on my Glock 19s and I really like them.
Anyone try these in a 229? Like them, hate them? Better to go with...
First Post: Hello everyone, as a lurker I've already had about a dozen questions answered. But this one is far from specific.
OK, I know this is likely crazy, but I’m going to throw this out anyway.
I have a two-tone, P239 DAK .40 S&W. For a long time, it’s been my “house” gun. I don’t carry...
I just finished a "P228.25" build on a police trade-in .40 cal frame. It says on the factory box it is a "DAK-G" frame.
The trigger pull is simply amazing. It is lighter than my other DAK P229.
Question: What is the mechanical difference between DAK and DAK-G? Is it just a lighter mainspring...
I tried to post a similar thread earlier, looks like it vanished:
Is it possible to use a P228 machined sear in a DAK gun? At one point, the DAK and regular DA/SA sear were the same part, but that may have changed.
Hey everyone, I just wanted to make a thread (also my first one) on my brand new holster for my newly acquired Sig P229! Allow me to preface this post by saying I am completely new to Sig Sauer pistols in regards to actually owning one of my own. I also want to let the record reflect that I am...
Hey folks, really hoping some expert genius can shed some light on the situation for me.
Going by the Sig Exploded parts diagram, a P229 SRT -> DAK conversion video on YouTube, and a P239 SRT Disassembly / Reassembly video on YouTube, comparing the parts lists at Top Gun Supply, and talking to...
Here is an update on the purchase I made for this posted deal: http://sigtalk.com/sig-sauer-pistols/191706-pretty-good-deal-p229-40-s-w-dak-w-ns-leo-trade-ins.html
In all, I'm quite satisfied. I dig the DAK system and thought this was a good price ($369) for the description.
So when I got the...
Hi everyone.
New to the forum, looking forward to learning from the community.
I'm Active Duty Coast Guard, LE qualified.
Grew up in NJ (behind enemy lines)
I have a 229RDAK in 40cal, and a Colt LE6920 with mostly custom parts.
I sent another kid off to the Custom Shop this weekend... my P239 will be coming back home as a DAK, joining the lineup with the 226 and 224. The only one left out will be my 229, which isn't compatible with DAK according to Mike at SIG CS.
"Why?" I asked myself, just before I made the phone...
Sorry if this has been discussed in the past but I know nothing about the DAK trigger. Considering a P224 for carry and wanting to know the pros and cons of the DAO trigger. Weight, accuracy, safety, speed, etc.

Greetings to all! Just got my first center fire pistol.
It is the 226 40 S&W DAK with rail and a 9mm slide and mag kit.
Long hard trigger pull. I've babied myself on the rimfire guns I've had with 2.5-3 pound triggers. Do I just live with the long 8# pull or is there a safe way to lighten the...
This is the model number of a P226 40sw with a DAK trigger. The W in front is significant, in my understanding, that it's for law enforcement/government entities only. Does anyone know for sure what the W means in front of the model number and what it does to the price?
Thanks.
Hey, everyone. New to the site and the sig world. Picked this bad boy up this weekend and am in love with it. I've had Glocks, Kahrs, S&W and Springfields and I can't figure out why it took so long to get a Sig. This is the P226 DAK. I was a little leery of getting a DAK model but the...
