While the best is often subjective, I went the route of modifying based on what was best for my intended uses.
I use my PCC for competition, and found that at least at my skill level (I won't say whether I'm bragging or complaining here...), I didn't need a whole lot of tweaking to get the desired results.
Radian Raptor CH - Not quite as nice as the NLA (IMO), but easier to charge.
SIG Romeo 5 XDR Predator - I prefer the green color and the dot over base line is awesome (for me).
Arisaka M Lok Fingerstop - For consistent hand placement.
TTI magwell - Quicker reloads.
Odin Works Extended Mag Release - Easier to reach
KNS Precision Anti-walk Pins - Haven't found them to be necessary, but wanted to add a dot of Zombie Green.
ATI X-1 Grip - For consistent grip and comfort.
Can't forget some way to get it around. I use a
Savior Equipment T.G.B 30" Bag.
Plenty of room between the interior and the full-length pocket on the front. The large strap makes it easy to tote.
My K is more for range fun/HD/EDC, so I kept that in mind.
Next Level Armament CH w/Lifter Block - A little larger tabs make it easier to operate in the dark, plus I think the quality is better.
SIG Romeo 6H - I wanted an optic with clear caps so I wouldn't need to do anything before using them. I have a
Romeo 4T also, but the sight picture seems bigger on the 6H.
Surefire M340C Mini Scout Light Pro - Many good choices in lights, but I chose this particular one as I wanted something with enough light, but not so much as to blind me in the dark. I also needed it to be able to withstand not just recoil, but the chance of being banged against a door jamb in the middle of the night, or possibly being used to knock someone over the head.
Unity Tactical Hot Button - I started with a
Surefire tape switch, but ended up with the Unity. Extremely solid build and its' design allows easy activation with my thumb with just a slight press forward.
LaRue Tactical IndexClips - for light-cable management.
KAK Industries Micro Flashcan - Helps direct some of the muzzle blast and noise downrange. I also have the
regular length which I use with a
Samson Mfg. 8" handguard, but this is pretty much how I keep it so it will fit into my laptop bag.
Odin Works B1 M Lok Handstop - Took me forever to find one that was comfortable and would fit on the slot and a half of M Lok, but I really like this one.
Odin Works Extended Mag Release - Easy to reach and manipulate without having to look.
ATI X-1 Grip - For a consistent and comfortable grip. Seems to hold your hand as much as you hold it.
KNS Precision Anti-walk pins (Zombie Green) - Just because.
For both, of course you can't be safe enough, so a
Monstrum Chamber Plug and amusing
Safety Flag.
I have 3 bags for this, also based on purpose.
Most of the time it rides around in my
SIG Sauer Laptop Bag. I really wish you could still get these as they are very nice. I can add my iPad or laptop along with needed accessories while at work.
For the range, I pack a
WRB 18" Pistol Case.
I also sometimes pack it in a
Maxpedition Entity Tech Bag, which is about as small a bag as it will fit in. I then pack this in my luggage.
NOTE: Some of the bag pictures are older, so may reflect different equipment configurations.
The most important "upgrade" though, is plenty of mags and brass to fill 'em. I do hate reloading at the range...lol
For match use, I went with
Taylor Freelance mag extensions. So far they have performed flawlessly, both the
+10 and the
Goliath +20 versions. Just for fun, I added custom Cerakoting
Osage County Guns consistently has the best pricing on
Gen 2 30-round mags, but you can also find little bonuses if you scour the Interwebs. I picked up some 10 rounders for $22 on GB which I converted to 20 round, and then I found a little gun shop in TX that had 20 rounders that I picked up for just over $30 apiece. All Gen 2. The ones that were originally 10 round have the
Ghost MOAB Replacement Base Plates. I put green silicone tape around the base of the mags I load with SD ammo for easy ID.
I also got in on the
Thril SM9 MPX magazine pre-order last Winter. They ran into several delays, but did deliver. They offered 3 free AR mags for every 2 MPX mags ordered. These were delivered last Summer. I order 4 SM9s so received 6 AR mags. When they did deliver, as an apology for the wait, they doubled the orders, so I ended up with 8 and they are are 35 round magazines. I have run each of these through both MPXs maybe 4-5 times and haven't had any issues. Unfortunately, they have been out of stock for while so I'm not sure when the next batch will be done.
So...sorry for the long post and too many pictures, but I'm just kickin' back on a lazy Sunday afternoon... I hope all my links are good.
Just my 2c worth...hope it helps.
